Sick White Tail Kole Tang - Free

Hi all,

My beloved White Tail Kole tang is sick right now, there is a velvet outbreak in my tank and I unfortunately do not have the facilities to quarantine everyone.

If someone with a quarantine tank would take it and nurse it back to health, give it a good home I would greatly appreciate that.
Fish itself is fat and healthy prior to illness. Still eats now but reluctantly. Is active right now but has lost color.

Am located in Hayward but willing to drive within reasonable distance to meet.

You can ask High Tide Aquatics If they can QT it for you. I had velvet and lost all my 6 fish :(.

I hope someone can help here? If he survives until tomorrow. I cannot take another fish, and I have my quarantine not setup.

@under_water_ninja - can you take him if @Haider Khaleeli brings him to you? Or too risky to infect the other fish?
 
Hi all,

Thank you so much for your kind words and offers. I rushed to PetSmart earlier this evening and got a tank, I have the salt mixing right now. I'll try to save the tang myself, my schedule for the next two days are packed and I think I need to act quickly.

I also had to unfortunately put down my bluejaw trigger with clove oil tonight as well.

I'll try to save as many fish as I can.

Once again, thank you all for reaching out so quickly, I truly appreciate it.

Here is a useful article written by one of our members. It may not help with your current issues sadly however it’s a great read in terms of preventing future outbreaks.

There is a humblefish forum you could find on line that may have articles or suggestions relating to current issues.

With something like velvet I know it’s a time senstivie thing so good to see your getting a qt tank going. Be quick with getting them treated.

Also feel free to ask more questions we don’t mind at all. This is just a hard subject matter the issue your having.
