Sinularia on Main Rockwork?

Hello. I had a sinularia when I first got into coral, but I quickly sold it to create room for more high end corals. I want to get this coral again, since I have upgraded my tank and have room for it. My question is, should I put this on my main rockwork, or would it spread too quickly? My tank has 0 encrusting corals and 0 fast spreading soft corals, like xenia, zoas, or kenya trees in it. I basically want to know if this only grows upward, or would I expect it to spread like a xenia/zoa/kenya tree? -Thanks in advance!

I picked up some green nepthea at the swap, and have had some in the past. Seems like a very similar coral, not sure if they encrust differently, but I would think they would be fairly similar. I’ve never had the chance to grow out a large colony, but it seems like they just encrust at the base. If you ever wanted to get rid of it, cutting it off at the base and covering it with glue I would think would work.

Have a couple of frags right now, was thinking about using them for a frag swap or DBTC in the future. Discovered I had monti eating nudis, been monti fallow for over a month, FYI. Let me know if you want a piece!

Doesn't take over like those potential invasive fast growing ones you name. I would urge caution when getting from another reefer. In terms of making fully sure they know what they have. As frags some Kenya trees can look alot like singularia.

Thanks! Kenya trees were the main reason I was concerned about adding sinularia. I figured they would spread similar.

Nothing like them, can't personally speak on other varriants but i've had the rarer yellow Sinularia strain for over 2 years and it has barely gain 1/4 of it's starting size.

I've only gotten 3 tiny frags from it in that time as well.

Wow, that's crazy! I would've bet money on it growing a lot faster than that! Any chance you can share a photo of the yellow coloration? I have only seen the green and blue ones.
