Slight bummer today...

Well,
Today was going to be the day. My rhomboid wrasse has been in the 60g display for months (8 or 9 months). I had placed my rhomboid wrasse into the acclimation box this week. No issues noted. Today was going to be his Independence Day! I let him out and was watching the tank while enjoying a morning beverage. Noticed my Laboute wrasse was chasing him a bit. The rosy scale wrasse chases the Laboute around so I wasn't too concerned. Then, my male swallowtail angel just went after him. Would not let it go. Poor guy ended up hiding in the corner of the tank. After watching this for about a two hours I decided I did not want to risk it. Good news was he was easy to scoop out and put back into the smaller tank. Oh well. Not sure if I want to try this again, but this does not bode well for my plans. I still have a Regal Angel and Copperband I was planning to introduce when they get bigger. What really bums me out is this means I will not be getting any new fish any time soon. Guess I will be living vicariously for now by visiting my local LFS.

Allow all to settle
Then eventually introduce a$$hole....with a mirror ready

The mirror trick will work for this. Wrasses will display aggression that usually will fall off after three days -- that's normal. Mostly it's just chasing behaviour and as long as you have a good lid on the tank no real damage is done while they sort it out. Moving the angel out for a few days and then using a mirror should solve everything. You could move a few things around in the tank as well if you want. It sometimes disrupts territories enough to "reset" aggression.

I used the large 16" long box from Octo Aquatics. But he was only in there for 4 or 5 days. Guess I can try again with a longer period.
