hi guys not sure if this belongs here but i am looking for a steel plate 6 feet long about 8-12 inches. thickness i am looking for is 3/16. thanks. in the daly city area

Allied Metal in Hayward. They got a lot of stuff. I think they will cut it too.

Maxx Metals in San Mateo was the cheapest source that I found but I’m not sure if they sell to the public. You’ll have to buy a full 20’ piece but they will cut it for you. Bring gloves too. Everything is what is called a mill finish meaning it’s sold the way it comes from the mill. It will be dirty and oily. Do you know if you need it hot or cold rolled?

i wanted to make a shelf. i wanted to use metal so that i would have to place a brace under the shelf. i have a few pieces that i was going to place on top then weld it.
