I happened to see this pop up on my Facebook feed tonight. It's a store I never heard of and never even knew it existed. So just sharing in case anyone is intrested in checking them out. Post says liqudation sale ??? Maybe killer deals???
Maybe waste of time ???

If anyone has been here or goes to check it out please let the rest of us know what they have and if it's worth checking out or not.

Perhaps we could group buy, enter stuff into dbtc, or even buy grow-out contest corals? Never heard of this store though so I've got no idea what they're actually like

With all the reefing addicts here, I never heard it mentioned since I been a member so I won't be too hopeful. Yet I'm sure someone here must be familiar with it.

There's a few reviews on google maps, they seem mixed. Most negative reviews are about the store not being open / customer service

Only 1 picture of saltwater, and it's of a huge (but neglected) colony of frogspawn. If it's still there...

Can you link the facebook post?

Tank lights are always off, u walk in and its like u don’t exist. The dude is occupied on something else and pays no attention to you. Place is old and everything is way overpriced for what it is. Livestock didnt look healthy either.

It won't allow me to. It was posted in not bay area reefers group on fb.

I don't like to be negative, but save yourselves a trip. Manfred has been around forever and he has one of those dark and dank 90s style fish stores where they could care less about the animals. There's literally power compact bulbs still up for sale. Half the fish tanks were dark.

These were the best two tanks went I went a year and a half ago and they were full of brown palythoa, bubble algae, aiptasia, etc. No idea how much things were because the prices weren't clear.

think that's the flying saucer elegance i saw when i went last year. that would be the only coral i'd be interested in and unfortunately agree with the other comments. but who knows, there may be a gem hiding in the unlit tanks.

Last time I was there was over 7 years ago . He had alot of used equipment for sale decent prices! Fish selection was a bit low. Tanks were okay a bit on the slime side and softy dominate. He had some amazing huge pipe organ colonies the largest I’ve seen over 12 inches tall. Think I got a few frags. He was very knowledgeable and kept things simple. I did stop by a few times when passing by which I think I was the only one in there each time.

This is another Manfred. He runs what is widely believed the best acro tank in Europe. Since this is in German: He has been doing this for decades and this tank in the video is 20+ years old. He spends approx. 5-6 hours daily on his tank. He seems to be using a Sea Swirl too. Several acros in his tank spawned and grew inside the tank where they landed. Interesting, he knows all the latin names for his fish but he seems to be very unfamilar with the names of his corals...

I've been to NLA a few times. Tbh, not sure how he lasted 40 years. I tried to buy some aiptasia from him and he didn't want to sell to me lol. It's unfortunate another LFS is closing regardless of how bad it was maintained. He has tons of dry goods stock so I'm sure if you need any basic supplies it'll be a killer deal. Like mentioned above, definitely check the expiration dates.
