I have been a little busier at work and not at home as much.

Normally I test no3/po4 2x a week. The one week I don’t nitrates bottomed out due a couple of factors.

Prob at zero anywhere from 3-5 days but the ramifications-one acro RTN’ed overnight.

My bird’s nest colony bleached in a couple of days. Annoyed as it took 2 years to get that back going. Another acro bleached overnight. Another SPS also went as well. Most other SPS seem to be doing ok so far.

Not sure it there is another reason for failure? I did send in an ICP. PO4 is fine at .18

What do you think caused the sudden drop in nitrates? Certainly zero is bad, but I wonder sometimes if that’s just the symptom of something more nefarious (bad bloom of bacteria or?)

Two factors -carbon dosing -and one of the foods I dose wasn’t dosing properly. If I was home I would caught that..

Cut the carbon dosing and fixed the food issue..

How can I tell if there is a bacterial bloom? Carbon dosing can cause that if I recall.
