From what I can tell, you are closer to 5-6 feet of vermetid snails.

Those look like mini feather duster/tube worms in the sump rather than vermetids. Easier to tell when they are happy under water. Little white fans come out of the tips vs the snot line vermetids use. The feather duster version doesn’t harm anything but can clog pipes.

They're vermetids for sure, I've been cleaning them out for over a decade

That is the plan yes. Nobody wanted to buy him so I took him rather than donate to LFS. His chances might be slim…but probably better with me than some random.

I have had good success with tangs though - my PBT was actually first, and have since added a purple, a whitetail (went to Erin), a Kole, and a convict.

I plan to introduce the grandpa at the same time as the tomini (currently in my frag tank).
