Do Acropora sp. fight with one another for turf in our tanks? The answer is yes, but I am wondering if there is a tendency they have (besides over shading a colony below it) when it comes to duking it out. Do they normally encrust into one another and stop growing in each others' direction? Or do Acropora have the tendency to fight and have one grow over the other? Likewise with the branches ... if the branches of two colonies grow toward one another, will the branches of one colony weave around the branches of a different Acropora colony? Or will the branches grow into one other and start killing one another?
I know it is an ambiguous question, with no defined answer, as it varies from scenario to scenario, so if you have any experience with Acropora fighting, post it up
