I have had many tanks over the last 30 years or so (dad was into aquariums, salt and fresh) but have never properly documented one. Just random pics and vids from time to time.
So as i am setting up another/new system, thought this would be the chance.
I purchased an Ultum Nature Systems Full Reef 90. https://ultumnaturesystems.com/full-reef-system/
I had originally first seen the UNS tanks down at RAP Anaheim in August, really liked all the attention to detail of the system along with its simplicity. (For background i also have currently up a Custom CDA150G SPS Dominant/Mixed Reef; IM40 AIO Nem/Mixed Reef and a PNW 40oz + a couple of small freshwater tanks.).

I got the tank via Neptunes in SJ. It happened to time out perfectly as i went into the store to check them out and Cerissa had just placed an order and was able to add another system for me.

As the sump and bits come already in the aluminum stand, there is no laying down of the boxes/crates when transporting. So while not crazy heavy, not a fun shape move around.

Moved into its new location (mostly, not fully in spot until after i was to install the plumbing and such.

Please forgive the blueness, the 150G is not too far away in the same room.
Plumbing comes 'pre-assembled' and you simple have to attach/screw in to the overflow above and connections points on the sump. Straight down is the return and off to the right is are the drains.

My new skimmer before dropping it into its new home. A Ultra Reef 160, Thing is built like a TANK!

All the doors come off, the are made out of PVC and attached via magnets. the left side of the stand already has the peripherals section and a drawer above.
Added an Inkbird heater controller, Hyrdos Launch,

Both the return pump and skimmer pump are Sicce DC pumps. *BRS actually sent me the return pump free, i 'won' as a preferred reefer at Christmas time. I made my order for all the stuff on sale and when i opened the box there was the brand new Sicce Return pump, i had to do a couple of double takes wondering if i had accidentally placed the pump in my cart and ordered by mistake.

Coming along, lights had just arrived. I went with Reefbreeder Meridiens. I have Neptune Sky's over my 150G, Reefi Uno over my 40G; in the spirit of continuing to try new, went with Reefbreeders on this after reading so many positive reviews of the previous gen Photons.

The underneath with most all connections made. the box on top fo the sump is the ATO reservoir, it has a float switch already in the return chamber and john guest connection in the reservoir. No pump, all gravity.

This drawer pulls out of the ATO reservoir for refilling with RODI water.

One of the early aquascape layouts, i have tweaked it numerous times as i dial it in. This tank will be LPS dominated/Mixed reef.

Vortech pumps will be on the backwall instead of the sides (at least to start).

There is no water in the tank yet. I will be adding sand as well, not a fan of barebottom.
I will seed the tank by moving over a Xport Brick from my 150G over to this tank once i have water in it.

Looking good! Those UNS R tanks are a work of art! Robert showed me the insides and out of their display at Neptune and I was blown away how well thought out each component was and beautifully designed.

Saw these at Robert's shop also. The 45 degree mitered edges look so nice!

You going to shift the other tanks into more distinct biotopes after getting this online?

I've had my eye on the UNS Reef systems. I have 3 UNS tanks (all FW). I love the build quality and mitered edges. I'm thinking this will be my next build, so following along.

Thanks for this post! I never knew UNS made Reef tanks. Looking at their R systems online, I am truly shocked by their level of integration and modern look. Definitely will be on my shortlist list for the next tank build :).

Great build!! like the magnetic doors.
Any leds under the hood?
No LEDs in the stand yet, but i will be adding some and connect them to the Hydros.
Trying to think of ways to make the lights come on automatically; but haven't yet given the doors come off don't just swing open with a place to add a switch release. Could just use a motion sensor separate from the controller.
