Uploading videos

Can we upload videos? I see people uploading them elsewhere like YouTube and linking, but I’d rather upload them directly like we do with pics, if possible.

I wouldn’t even suggest to host video on the site, let along people uploading hi res 500mb to 1gb Video files without any compression.

So nope.
 
Things tend to get expensive fast when people upload videos.
Storage size is obvious.
But server performance and server bandwidth also become big issues.
Not so much the upload, but all the downloads as people view them.

And like youtube, we would have to recompress them for users to allowable sizes/formats.
Although XenForo does have a plugin to handle all of that I think.

So no, not something I think we want to do.
