I thought 15% water change every 2-3 weeks is appropriate, not 10% weekly.
Depends a lot on bio load vs. size of system vs. corals you want to keep vs. what nutrient export you employ vs. how you add alk/ca etc..
The real way to see what works for you is to pick a system, stick to it for awhile, see how it works, and do some testing along the way to see if it keeps things stable and happy. Adjust accordingly.
