Just wanted to share a little tool I use. I got a micro vaccuum attachment kit, like this and attached it to a longer tube. I use the brush attachments on it to "sweep" my rockwork from time to time. It allows you to stir up detritus on the rocks and instantly siphon the majority of it out. Works great for cyano on the rocks too (which happens to be what reminded me of this..)
