btw i calibrate my khg ph prob once a year to 18 months.
I noticed the ph prob in the khg is more stable which I think is because its isolated im its own chamber with clean water all the time..
Why you need to calibrate at 6 months?

Ahh. I just do it for my apex probe, so I figured it would be necessary for the KhG.

I haven’t calibrated my calcium apex probes in 3-4 years. I test them occasionally, but haven’t calibrated them.
And their reading is accurate still?
This goes against the recommended operation of any prob out there..
Probs have a life span of 2 years. Thats the good snd bad probs out there..

But that means you are not really using it. Maybe using it for delta measurment and event monitoring not for what they are truly intended to..;)

I’m absolutely using it. Although a number of people won’t agree to it, I use the pH to power off the solenoid to the co2 tank.

Well. Nitrates are holding around 1-2.5ppm and consequently po4 dropped from .1 to .05 which is really nice. I haven’t changed anything except adding nitrate. I’m glad it lowered my po4.

seeing a bit more algae growth in the tank but I don’t care. Corals look great and that’s all that matters to me.

I know it’s somewhat anecdotal, as I’m going through a similar process with my tank, but Are you seeing better colors or better PE, both? So far I have seen improvement in PE but I have also switched some flow around when adding the gyre so it’s hard to single out the cause in my tank

Yes. Definitely more PE and I think more color as well.

I have the opposite problem in my DT - No PO4 and high NO3

Took some snap shots today. I’m getting better with the cell phone camera thanks to the camera pro app
