I moved to the Pismo Beach area a few years back from the Boston area and have been looking for a club since!

About me,
I'm Chris.
I started with my 1st water tank in 1998 then have had a reef running consistently since 2004. With about 6 month break when moving across country. Most of that was a 180 gallon built in the wall.

Well I got to California and set up a 120 which lasted a couple years until I bought a 320.

All of my equipment is in a shed just outside.
That was one of the great benefits of moving to California.

Well I recently pulled out the 320 and now have a 470 gallon 10 long monster!
It's been for about 3 weeks and is a hot mess! But I'm getting it there. No sooner did I put all of the fish into the 470, then I got some sort of mystery sickness and had to pull every fish back out which required basically tearing the whole thing down. I'll be fallow until the end of December

Anyway I hope I'm not too far south for this club...

Welcome awesome tanks. Your not to far, we do have a few in person frag swaps a year. Might be a bit of a drive for you but would definitely Welcome you with open arms. We have a member in Vegas afterall, a few are also not directly in the bay area.

Would love to see a few close ups of your tank, and learn more about your current system.

Thanks all, we have a kid in college in palo alto so we are making drives up fairly regularly at least since last year. She's a sophomore now

I started to chronicle the build of the 470 on Instagram. But I think I might be too old to use Instagram properly. Lol
I never wanted to be on TV and basically you have to make a video all the time. It's tough for me to get the desire up to do that.

Is the club holding fairly regular meet ups?

Yes! A lot of them are members-only, but membership is $30 a year

We have frag swaps, skill workshops (fragging, etc), and other events. Which is cool, because it’s the one time I get to hang out with reef keepers in person
