I would like a frag of this one.
@Srt4eric, @SepToob, @Hella_Salty650, @JVU, @IOnceWasLegend, @jstiltne, have requested a frag.

I also use AFR! Love the stuff, but if I let one of the big 3 (Alk Ca Mag) go untested, at least one would eventually go out of whack. Which salt you use seems to be a big factor - I just switched from Red Sea Black to Tropic Marin, before I was having to mix in extra Mag with my water, now I am...
Let's make sure the lack of Ca Mag testing doesn't get lost, that is definitely a very important part of the process and should be done more than once a week i'd say. Many SPS people have an apex and a trident for this, me included. If green slimers arent making it my guess is that light, RODI...
My knee-jerk reaction other than the comments above (Ca, Mag, temp and temp swings) is those phosphates are about double as high as the SPS sweet spot. I also wonder what PAR you're getting. With that said, I wasn't able to keep SPS confidently until I upped my at-home water RODI unit to a 5...
My phosphates are actually bottomed out and I’m dosing to bring them up, cyano is my battle currently. I swore off gfo after my first tank setup had some acros stripped from dropping too quickly, now my only phosphate removal strategy is water changes. Safest option
@MolaMola
Going great! I'll have to get some updated pics, but the vision is certainly coming together. My last thing I am trying to figure is some good long-term powerheads. However, the setup is currently a 50gal low-boy frag tank that is going through the new tank uglies, but snails are...
I can't rave enough about the emerald crabs from reefcleaners; they literally have a money-back guarantee if the emerald crabs don't eat the bubble algae. 5 of them did so well in my tank that after they all cleared the BA, there was so little algae that I think starvation caused them to die and...
I’ll add into this thread that I put in a reefcleaners order a month or so ago, the emerald crabs go right for the bubble algae, the Pitho crabs seem dopey and ineffective, albeit entertaining
Update time on what has been a very active summer in my classroom:
The good:
1) I need to give a HUGE thanks to @Srt4eric for all of his help - he handed me a POND UV clarifier - who woulda thunk it! And, well, it was broken, tried to replace the bulb and am pretty sure it was a ballast issue...
Not surprised, you’re a genie! Looking for a 90 gallon rated skimmer for that frag tank I’m building out, headed down that way on Friday . Let me know if you see it!
