I’m currently doing it on my 3g pico budget build. Only filtration is a HOB with filter floss I change weekly. I’d much prefer to have a skimmer, but the tank is too small and it wouldn’t fit the budget anyways.Hello!
Would love to see if any of ya’ll are only using filter floss as your source of filtration. aka, no skimmer, scrubber, chemical media etc..
Any thoughts on this approach?
Anyone tried and had any luck?
Needs to be maintained: replacement, rinsingI see so many people oppose using filter floss does it do more harm than good? Just curious on the reason or it doesnt do nothing
Tell us how you really feel Erin. LolNeeds to be maintained: replacement, rinsing
It’s a shit “sink”
Nice. What kind of coral are you keeping?I do that, only filter floss and bio media no skimmer but I do 20% wc weekly on a 20g
So no filtration at all? Just water changes?I wouldn’t bother with floss.
What size your tank and what’s in it? A lot of us run just skimmers and no mechanical filtration at all. I would highly recommend a skimmer if you can fit one.So no filtration at all? Just water changes?

Maybe don a helmet cam and document the warfare!According to me. It is one of the best-kept secrets in reefing that I only know about.
