I made the same mistake of adding a "temporary" nickel sized blue tang to try and handle algae. 10 years later it still was in my tank until I gave it to someone with a 200gal+ (the size they should be in). They don't do much at all eating wise and you're better off with manual removal (brush) and a turbo snail until the rocks mature. A lawnmower blenny will get lazy and just eat whatever you feed your clown plus the film algae on rocks and glass.
