Neptune Aquatics

Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Congratulations, I watched maybe 3 of the live shows there where a bunch all 2-3 hours long.
You weren't kidding. I had one playing while I was doing a water change and some pump cleaning, only to find out it wasn't on that episode. Lol

Damn they hooked you up! Congrats bro!
Dude forreal. I thought, man this gotta be fake...they send out all that free stuff like that? Never thought id be drawn.

Hell yes! Got a pleasant surprise today at my door courtesy of BRS. I originally ordered some NP reagent and ended up being drawn for a box. Now I'm inclined to go back and watch the drawing.

One year mark since adding water. Most frags are growing well and a few just encrusting. As young as the tank is, I'll take it as a win.

I had a short bout with cyano forming on my sandbed. I turned the flow up and tried out a few products.

TMP cyo control - didn't make a dent
PNS Deepcycle bacteria and probio - seemed to have helped but couldn't clear it up.
Dr.tims revive and waste away - following the instructions on their protocol seemed to have finished it off along with some heavy carbon usage.

You got me. Guilty as charged lol.
Got that trap ready?
The Yellow tail blue tang has friends here in a 300...
He grew quick. Maybe in the next few months he'll come out to play.
Can tell those montis in the bottom right are going to get some heavy trimming soon.
Alot of these will be hitting dbtc soon. Just gotta find the time to cut em down. Some play well with others while some just want all the space to themselves.

Went a full month and a half since my last WC. Running RMS method has played out well so far. NO3 holds steady around 4-9 depending on how it feed. PO4 bottoms out if i dont dose. I found the sweet spot for the majority of my corals is on the higher end. Anywhere from 0.06-0.1 has produced the best results.

Alk demands have been increasing and im up to dosing 130ml / day of BRS 2 part to keep things steady.

Flow had to be turned up quite a bit and was causing sand dunes everywhere. I picked up some TLF CaRx media and it seems to be holding up to the flow pretty well. The only thing id do different is letting it condition in my sump a couple weeks before adding it to the display. I threw it in after rinsing it clean, and it looked great for the first week. Diatoms took over the new substrate and ended that joy rather quick. It may be time to replenish some pods anyway.

Life getting busy that left me with no time to tinker with things probably been the best thing that's happened. Some pieces are beginning to branch, others encrusting.

This is as much as I see of the carpet nem. Since adding the Kessils, he stays tucked in the shade.
