Hopefully you don't have it still in a container with no flow and heat? That will kill it for sureTorch is oozing something white
Torch is oozing something white
looks like I managed to somehow do all of that. I have a dip but have not used it yet. Those corals look pretty stressed. Unless you've got a dedicated tank set up to QT the coral, I would just acclimate + dip (below is a guide from Tidal Gardens):
Tidal Gardens - Coral Acclimation
The proper acclimation of a new arrival is extremely important considering the amount of stress the coral has endured before arriving at your door. We recommend that the following procedure be followed immediately upon receipt of the livestock. The entire process is actually very simple and...tidalgardens.com
I either remove the frag plugs or give the plug a good scrub with a toothbrush before it goes in the tank. I also check for stuff like Aiptasia and Majanos which dip won't do anything to.
Yes it was jelly like. No more oozing. No smell when it did ooze. .Is it like jellylike? Does it smell? Is the ooze made of small strands?
That helped with the zoa. In the picture, you can see what the gigantic pump had blown off of the zoa rock. with the lights off, the cyano just sort of stayed there like dust. Can black out the QT tank to kill off any cyano
fingers crossed that they pull through!I kind of alluded to it in my last post but wasn't super clear, my bad. Your QT process does more harm than good IMO. You never want to see bare skeleton on torches/frogspawn. I would have followed the 30min acclimation guide I linked (with dip and pest inspection/removal).
It's good to keep pests out of your tank, but there are better ways to do it with less risk to the coral. Everything is a learning experience in this hobby; I've made my fair share of mistakes as well. Hope these corals pull through for you!
