25 Nassarius Snails!! Just keep the army well fed otherwise they will turn cannibalistic on themselves as well as other tank mates lol.. I’ve seen them eat half their body weight in fish scraps. Hows all your tiger tails doing? Miss those guys! Any pics

Haha, Reef Cleaners package for a 200 gallon tank has 38 Nassarius vibex along with bunch of other CUC members (check here: https://www.reefcleaners.org/index....art_product_id=1939&virtuemart_category_id=20).. I thought I was starting with less, but now reading these comments feel like I started with more than I need.. I will monitor things closely and take action if needed.

Barely get to see the tiger tail cucumbers, they are always hiding during the day.. I will share some pics if I get a chance to take some tonight

Well if you don't rehome any, they'll end up being more shells for the hermits.

For the tiger tails, keep in mind they reproduce by splitting, and they're mostly nocturnal. My copperband ate mine though. It also ate the snorkels off my nassarius snails and the antennae off the other snails.

I heard Sea Cucumbers are toxic when threatened or split.. didn't it nuke your tank?

I will start feeding a little extra, hope they get to eat and dont end up in Hermit Crabs mouth!

You have me worried now. I hope my snails can survive my Copperband!

With such a large tank you could consider Long Spine Urchins. I have three in my 5' tank and they are always eating. In fact the span every once and awhile. Just be mindful of those spines. I bumped into this a couple times and its not fun.

thank you, I somehow dont like the porcupine look of them, plus the danger while handling them as you mentioned :) hence just went with tuxedo urchins, which IMO are cute looking

I love how they move their spines to do the most damage when you get close to them!

I knew this scientist that finally got to go out on a collection trip in the Philippines. He was super excited to get onto land, he jumped off the boat, right into a group of long spines. That ended his excursion :/

So I bought 20 of what I thought were Nassarius Snails from LFS and bought about 4-5 from a BAR member. Both look very different so I wonder if what I got from LFS are Nassarius snails or something else (whelks?) coz when I search online, Nassarius are usually light colored.. maybe they are both Nassarius snails but from different regions? Can you all please help identify? FWIW, none of these come out during the day, even while I am feeding the tank.

I've had both dark and light colored ones.
