Well a few weeks ago I finally had enough of not knowing what is up with fish. With all this technology out there I figured there has to be an easier way for us to identify what is on our fish.
So I asked if anyone had a compound microscope cuz I only had a stereo microscope for coral inspection. That’s a different story for a later date. Anyhoo, Chris got me one. And someone gave me a 6ave fish that is sick. Perfect !!!! For me. Not the fish. So I did a skin scrape and here is what we see. Interesting Right . The first 3 pictures are skin flukes. Theres gill flukes too but I haven’t graduated to that level yet. The 4-5 pictures are ich. They are tanish brown and round.

Here is the fish when you see it with the naked eye. You would think brook. That’s what I thought. After two formalin baths it didnt look any better. With stuff like this. It can be multiple different things at once.

that's one really sick fish.. Hope you are able to save it along with sharing your under-the-micro-scope journey with us.. thanks Will for always trying new things, loved your recommendation around coral dippings that I came across when someone recently shared it in some other thread!
