Hey Michael thank you. 35 gallon tank will be up and going today and will move it there and put the coral I took out of it back in as well. Complete water change done and now have to catch the fish in small tank and put them back as well. Lost my flame angel. Kenny thinks it was all that plain...

Once my 35 gallon tank is up and going today will eventually move some corals to that tank. Had to resolve salinity issues in that tank which melted one of my corals away.

    Skimpy coral

Try now Fluval tank with light in the hood. 3-4 hours sometimes more of the white and switch to blue. Until about 8-9 pm. Just a starter tank to get me started on having saltwater tank. Except for hair algae and short stint with bubble algae it’s been pretty good. Coral growth has been slow and...

    Skimpy coral

can someone tell me what this coral is. Used to be full until I dealt with hair algae problem which as you can see is no longer a problem. I have caught some snails on it. Not sue if it matters. It does have polyp extension in its skinny arms. My clown fish used to love hanging out in it.

Both of mine are refractometers. Both were calibrated with distilled water. I’ve done numerous water top offs with fresh rodi water from 10 gallons or more and it never dropped except for 1 day it was 1.028. Then right back up again. Buy my salt water from Kenny and was about to get more but...

    Salinity still a problem

I’m back…I’ve done a complete tank water change. Lost my flame angel fish. Moved my other 5 fishies to my 13 gallon tank to save them. My salinity is still the same at 1.030. I’m starting to wonder if it’s the rock which was dry rock, is holding onto salt. Was going to ask Kenny but shop was...

    Droopy coral

Ok the salinity seems to be the problem. 38ppt or 1.030 on the meter. This is after a partial water change this morning. Alkalinity I came up with also high at 15.3. Will add some r/o water and retest in the morning.

Thank you…one less thing to worry about. Tank is only 2 1/2 mths and can’t wait for its growing pains to be done, at least for the time being.
