    Jake’s 90 gallon mixed reef

Not sure which gets bigger at fastest, but they all get “too big” imo When I don’t know stuff about fish I usually ask @Kensington Reefer

    Michael's 300 In Vegas

Did you soak or rinse or anything the dry rocks or just in they went? I always like to soak in old tank water for a week or two before I use them.

    Jake’s 90 gallon mixed reef

They are too big and just not that interesting to watch I’d much rather watch like 8 anthias than one foxface. The spines don’t really matter…unless they do! If I wanted a larger fish I’d use one that will do something for me like a kole or tomini. Foxface can be good algae eaters, but not always.

    Marco Rock boulders- pending

If nobody takes I will take to make structures with that I would eventually sell. I do give better deals to bar members. Also, I could trade you smaller pieces if that would be better for you. I have…a lot lol

    Jake’s 90 gallon mixed reef

I think as big as possible to be honest. They dont swim a ton and aren’t super aggressive, but they get big fast and like to eat a lot. I wouldn’t want one in anything under like 6 foot by 2 by 2. I actually would t ever want one, unless I wanted it to eat bubble algae I guess. Maybe

No foxface please, it will outgrow fast. Scopas is borderline at best in there imo

IM SR60 - back after a long hiatus

Ime feeding more is going to raise phosphate more than nitrate. More fish living and breathing (and eating) will bring up nitrate, but also yeah get rid of any macro algae or algae reactor you have going. Corals need some nitrate (especially with anll that light) and you’re close to not having any.

Maybe pods could help? I’d find someone who has baby trochus and grab a few dozen babies

Anyone know anything about Xenforo? Board position available.

Plus I think Eric oversold it anyways so whoever volunteered would likely be disappointed

    Please help this Scoly

Not sure what to do if the mouth died. Hope it recovers and regrows I guess? Might be worth some sort of dip after manually removing hair and bubble algae. Not sure what dip might be best or if that’s even a good idea

(Maybe) the source of reefing problems

I don’t disagree that some variation is probably natural, what I’m mainly talking about is the times when it seems to stall almost completely, or maybe even has a partial bleaching or some tissue loss. It can take a surprisingly long time to start back up again ime. Although those issues are...

(Maybe) the source of reefing problems

I think it’s exactly as you obvserved. When things happen and the pace stalls it take a long time to start back up again. The key is keeping that momentum going and avoiding the stalls. Not always obvious what causes them, but this is a key next step in your learning curve. Figuring out the...

    Derek's 225g - Magnifica / SPS Reef

I was about to say, more snails needed! I agree with trochus is exactly what I’d use

    Imperfect Fragging Supplies in action

I always liked the porosity of cement based tiles. Seems like ceramic doesn’t have that. Never really liked them mostly for that reason. And the hardness

Get a digital “pocket scale” look on Amazon. Anything with a resolution of .1 g should be good enough for your purpose imo. Probably only like $20-30

I’ve never used baking soda. I put a certain amount of soda ash into a gal of water. I forget exactly the amount, I wanna say 386 grams, but I’d have to look it up to be sure. I do the same white calcium chloride (407 g I think) And mg chloride and mg sulfate. The easy way is like @derek_SR...

(Maybe) the source of reefing problems

I’d focus on ph more than just alk Stable alk is good. Dosing smaller amounts more often is good. I’ve always used soda ash.
