Week four update: Still going strong. They are starting to eat frozen coppepods. Fingers crossed all are still alive and well. They are now about the size of a dime.

Raising the bangai’s as they are getting bigger the small shrimp don’t seem like enough and they have yet to take to dead/frozen foods.

Good luck! That is awesome that you found them alive and well in the overflow. Go figure. Any chance you can have them go down the pipe into the sump and then fish them out?

This is what I bought and thanks for the great idea!! There are 24 total (I think) according to my son. Thinking I might need to move them to a 20g tank soon. So far it isn't that crowded yet, but hopefully it will be soon.

What I found with mine is two started hanging out together. Then they started chasing the third. That’s how I figured out they had paired up.

Pic of the little one gallon cube I have set up as a back up source of shrimp. It’s crazy to see how they are attracted to light. Almost all of them in one corner.

Update: Quick video of the fish feeding on baby brine shrimp. All the little particles are the baby shrimp. You can see some of the fish dart out and eat them.
