    Heat and more heat

Some people run fans to blow across the top to increase evaporation. I've also heard of people using frozen bottles in the sump for emergencies.

    Co2 scrubber folks

I'm not too experienced with different connector types for this stuff. I think it's pretty awesome that the company is taking feedback so quickly and willing to change their product after speaking with you.

DBTC - OG Bounce - Needs some TLC

    Those look like jawbreaker mushrooms

I didn't know about this media. Any downsides from using it or is it pretty much better in every way?

DBTC - OG Bounce - Needs some TLC

Maybe I'm too conservative when it comes to PAR. Since it was bleached, I assume It should go to lower light. I'll try moving them up the tank to acclimate them to higher PAR....

    Co2 scrubber folks

Makes sense, that's why I said it would be cool to see if the reactor (CO2 measurement) is more efficient (not media).

    Co2 scrubber folks

I would be down for a CO2 media group buy as well. Agreed that TLF > BRS media. Would be cool to see if this reactor is more efficient than the current CO2 scrubbers.

    Bfirecat's Red Sea 525XL

Good news, the suspected dinos are gone now. I wasn't able to bring @IOnceWasLegend a sample. He did help confirm diatoms as well. Things I did: H2O2 for a week Ran only blue spectrum for a week Raised temp to 82 Replace c02 scrubber media Replaced RO/DI unit Stopped water changes Stopped...

Removing false wall and baffles on an IM 14g

Finally got it with the help of a hammer to wedge baffles off. Thank you all for the help!

Removing false wall and baffles on an IM 14g

So I was able to take most of the silicone off but managed to crack a little bit of the glass trying to wiggle. Is there some adhesive gluing the baffles to the rest of the tank? Would it be bad to take a hammer to the baffles...? I’ve been at this for about 3 hours.

Removing false wall and baffles on an IM 14g

It feels like there's no room to put the fish line/razor blade in between. Would it make sense to just bash the glass or is there a solvent or chemical agent I can use for certain parts? These tanks are built really well....

Removing false wall and baffles on an IM 14g

I figured 14g would be a random size for tanks, and I already bought the IM APS stand for it :D

Removing false wall and baffles on an IM 14g

Hey everyone, I'm trying to remove the false wall and baffles on the Innovative Marine 14g Peninsula. Having one heck of a time with it. Any tips and tricks? I've removed all the silicone I could from the reachable parts and tried to slide the razor blade down to but it hits glass. Thanks

RO/DI Unit - Needs replacement filters, etc

Hey everyone, I have a RO/DI unit for pay it forward. It does need replacement filters, carbon blocks. The membrane was replaced 6 months or so ago so that should be fine. I just replaced it with a newer unit. If there's a lot of interested, we can do a random raffle or something. Pickup in...

    Dino or not-social experiment

My first hunch would be dinos or diatoms but not positive. The stuff in my tank has much longer strands and looks more like reefbuilder's post.

    Bfirecat's Red Sea 525XL

It's brown and snotty, with air bubbles. Doesn't look like algae to me or cyano. I could be wrong, but I'm 98% confidant, hence the microscope. I'm confused as well, the dinos came on when I added the new fish and stopped dosing NeoNitro since the parameters were good.

    Bfirecat's Red Sea 525XL

Looks like dinos are taking over the tank. Nitrates are at 10, Phosphates at .08. Changed the lights over to blue spectrum only. Raised heater to 82 degrees. I stopped carbon dosing, started feeding more heavily, stopped amino acids, and stopped reef roids. Ordered replacement RO/DI stuff since...
