    DBTC - Red Table

The polyps themselves are generally red and the base is green. Can take time to start growing and showing the red, as the green is initially dominant.........as it grows, the red becomes dominant. I wouldn’t throw it out though. You never know, and I am not aware of any terrible green polyp...

    KESSIL a360w WITH A 40G IM TANK

Had a lot of success with kessils. A lot of it depends on what you are trying to grow, how deep your tank is and how high the light is from the water line. I used mostly the A350 and A360 Narrow lights on a 26” deep tank. I ran them at 100% intensity at either 9”, or 11” off the water line...

    Original Mummy Eye Chalice

Pretty sure I have a small piece of this that broke off my main colony recently. I’ll confirm and glue it to a plug or disk for you, until we can arrange a meet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Plan is to do a full canopy. Simple design though. Just a frame with some crossbars to hold the lights. However I thought I could fancy it up with a wrap of perforated metal.....much like the sides of the orphek itself.......possibly even put in some LED accent lighting to make it all fancy...

Hi Juliua, When I had the tank designed, they put an extra hole in the bottom of the tank. Normally you have a few holes in your overflow (although nowadays overflows are external), however this one is placed inside the tank. I have it plumbed from below my tank, through the wall and have...

Well, things are progressing with the new tank concept. Got the Orphek Atlantik V4’s and got them up on the tank today. Wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped, but all was eventually worked out. One of the lights wouldn’t turn on, but it turned out to be a loose wire that was easily fixed. Also had...

Thank you very much. I agree, a REAL reef has a lot of new coral, growing on dead coral and it is still very beautiful. Just can’t deal with it in my tank. LOL! ISSUES!! ;) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Diamond Goby.. should I get one?

They are very neat.............however..........I gave mine away, because it simply through sand all over the corals. It was constant and not just a little.......a lot!! This is in a 300 gallon tank, and they can cover some ground!! They are very fun to watch though, and as Mike said, if you...

Me too!!! Loved it, but couldn’t handle seeing stuff die off in the shadows. Also my own fault for not trimming the coral back, and for adding mushrooms in the first place. They all came from my previous tanks, and were filler for when the sticks were small. Once they started growing I couldn’t...

Picking them up tomorrow. Not likely that I will make it through the weekend before temporarily mounting them. [emoji16]

Fish are a bit stressed about not having Their original sleeping spots, but they seem very happy with all the extra swimming room. The tangs are like a little gang that swim back and forth. They, and the wrasses are also loving that most of the rocks have been split and cut open, as well as...

So now it’s been a process of removing coral, then taking out all the rocks and removing any unwanted mushrooms, polyps, vermatid snails, etc, etc. Then, moving some of my larger colonies that I am going to keep to their own rocks. The new idea is to lower all the coral, so you can see the top...

Well, it’s been a fun 5 years of learning, enjoying, suffering through this tank. LOL! It was starting to have some serious issues of over crowding and lighting issues (ie....big corals high in the tank, shading the rest of the tank). I also had a bunch of mushrooms that had simply taken over...
