    Mike's 220 gal build

Not quite. I had a larger Acrylic tank that was almost the same size but was 30" wide instead of 24". The acrylic tank had a tiny crack about 1/8" at the very top front that I just couldn't do it. Lol.

Ya I'm laying on the couch and took 2 Tylenol to stop the throbbing in my back as we just brought it into the house to finish the cabinet & plumbing. It is GIANT!

    Mike's 220 gal build

So it begins. I put the stand outside (still need to skin the stand and put doors etc this is just the skeleton) with the 180 on top and the 75 gallon sump below. Filled the 180 all the way as well as the overflows to check for any leaks over the next few days. Had some scares along the way but...

So I'm spending this weekend getting our 180 tank ready with my oldest daughter. We removed the black sticker on the back on the tank glass to paint it and on the top right corner I see this. It is about 5" from the top right corner. The glass is 3/4" thick and goes in just under a 1/4" . The...

    Let's talk plumbing.....again

Agree. But for the return would you use Gate or Ball if it's just to turn off so all the water doesn't flow back in for cleaning or such? I would imagine Ball correct since I'm using a DC motor to adjust flow speeds. Thanks!

    Let's talk plumbing.....again

Instead of a gate valve wouldn't a ball valve work better, it's more of a simple on/off correct? Not to mention cheaper lol.

    Let's talk plumbing.....again

So having a DC pump do I need a Gate valve or any valve on my return pipe? Also, I bought gate valves for my 2 Herbie drains that I will have, I will not be putting any valves on the emergency drains. Does all this sound correct? Thank you!

    Dinoflagellates vs. UV

Sounds like too much work....so on that note are Lifegard brand UV's any good?

    Dinoflagellates vs. UV

Cause the guy is selling it for $25 down the road from me lol. Do those 3/4" fitting coming off by breaking the glue and unscrewing them?

    Dinoflagellates vs. UV

Are you saying I can remove the 3/4" and put in the 2" slip?

    Dinoflagellates vs. UV

So the unit the guy is selling for cheap near me is the 3/4" model. I was hoping you can just take that connector off and it's 2" but it looks like there are 2 different sizes 3/4" & 2"

    Dinoflagellates vs. UV

This is the one he said it is. I don't see it mention anything about 2" slip that would be great if so-...
