Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thoughts: Bacterial dosing: Makes sense to me in a new-ish system, when you're establishing your bacterial ecology. Later though, it doesn't make that much sense to me to add bacterial types that require constant re-dosing (if they're not holding their own, are they actually doing anything...

    Bolick's 55gal mixed reef

I'm just messing around - this is a resurgence since the last berghia treatment. Just haven't gotten around to popping by JVUs berghia breeding grounds :)

    Bolick's 55gal mixed reef

Surprisingly, their stings seem much milder than those inflicted by my pocillopora - one aiptasia among my monti setosa branches is barely even affecting the setosa!

    Bolick's 55gal mixed reef

Is my growing appreciation of aiptasia aesthetics an indication of the severity of my problem?

    Bolick's 55gal mixed reef

    Ryan’s 40G first reef

Hmm, a little strange but probably normal. You have some powerheads oxygenating the water well, right?

    Ryan’s 40G first reef

I've also found that live foods (like baby brine) can entice new fish to eat! Good to give that a try

    Ryan’s 40G first reef

They'll make it without food for a while (week) - would recommend to dim the lights and minimize rapid movement close to the tank, both of which may cause them to hide.

Lets see them full tank shot

Loving the stylo branching pattern. How long have you had it?
