Tank Quote Feedback for a friend

Wait, hang on - i just realized they havent quoted him heaters / chillers and an Apex (or similar). He lives in Tampa, and I am confident that he will need a pretty beefy chiller as well. Thank you all for your inputs! This sized tank is out of my wheelhouse, so this is all greatly appreciated!

Tank Quote Feedback for a friend

Thanks everyone! I thought this was an insane price point for a ~90gal tank too! And this doesn't even include tank monitoring/automation other than ATO!!

Hello folks, A friend based in Florida is planning on getting a new tank and a local shop sent him this quote for a 48" long 94gal tank. Can y'all please pick this apart and let me know if he is being ripped off or if he should substitute any of this equipment for better and cheaper...

    Apex power readings

OK so two things come to mind. 1. If the current is changing by 0.05A, that is about 6W at 117V. 2. If you are plugging the Kilometer in to the wall, and connecting the EB832 to it, it is also measuring the power drawn by the power bar itself, plus the head unit, plus all the peripherals...

    Apex power readings

What is the refresh rate of the Kilometer? The Apex power PVI readings are refreshed at a very low rate. So Its likely that the Kilometer is reading faster and the Apex is just not refreshing fast enough to display those readings.

    Neptune apex inkbird heater help

Let’s assume you want to maintain the tank at 77F. Set the Inkbird to control the heaters at 77F. Set the Apex as a failsafe to cut off at 78F. So Apex program would look something like: Fallback OFF If Tmp < 76.5 Then ON If Tmp > 78.0 Then OFF (Please check the syntax)

    Apex power readings

Its rounding off the P/V/I to the nearest integer. The actual current draw is likely a float (in this case, 411/117 = 3.51A) which is why its displaying it as 4A.

    Apex help!!!!

If you are able to open the webpage via the Apex's IP, it sounds like the router is not able to resolve the IP<<>>hostname mapping properly. Do you know the hostname of the Apex unit? It should be the name of the Apex in the "Apex List" Can you try 2 things? Assuming you are using Windows...

Algae ID / Control / Elimination

It’s definitely not GHA, since it maintains its structure when removed from the water. Emerald is a risk since they sometimes eat LPS. And tank is too small for an urchin. The rockwork is the main arch in the tank, with multiple coral on it, so removal will be extremely tricky.

Algae ID / Control / Elimination

Hello folks, The last coral deaths have sparked an algae bloom in my tank. Can someone please help me identify the algae and the method to control / eliminate it? The algae holds its structure when taken out of the water. Thanks!
