    Bumbling newbie's 65g mixed reef

Yesterday I borrowed BARs parameter and took some readings. I'm a little disappointed about my numbers. There is only a tiny area (inches) with readings over 350. So, I am thinking about a light upgrade. Maybe AI, Radion or Kessil? I wonder if there will be any good Black Friday sales out there?

That sounds like a plan! But I think need to upgrade my lights first. I borrowed BARs parameter yesterday and found that my light isn't as good as I was hoping. There are very few areas (like inches) with a par reading greater than 350. :(

These are all gorgeous! The colors are what I want to fill my tank with (blues, greens & purples).

[Nov 16, 2013] 2013 BAR Members Only Frag Swap Help Thread (Hayward, CA)

Hey guys, I bought 2 BAR t-shirts and 4 Icee glues, and forgot to bring them home. :( Did anyone find them?

Oh man! That sounds SO tempting. Lets talk when that time comes. Right now I'm furiously looking for a job because my position is about to be relocated to the East Coast, and this girl is staying in CA. If I'm working when you get ready to sell I might be interested.

I know what you mean. What with the sump in my stand, there wasn't much space for the top off res. I can barely keep 5 gallons of fresh water down there. Oh well, hopefully that won't be as much of a problem when I upgrade to a bigger system. ;)

Got measurements for you Felicia. You can see in the picture that the 10g container is pretty cylindrical, with a bit of a lip at the top. The outside bottom diameter is ~13.5 inches, outside top diameter ~15 inches and hight is ~21 inches. Will that work for you?

    neuro's 60 gallon cube

Bummer! I just had to re-plumb a section last weekend. I wish I would have known before. Oh well. Thanks anyway.

    1. The PVC has little holes drilled all over. I used zip ties and epoxy to secure everything. It's funny, but I have moved my rock around a few times. I have finally decided to just leave it. I know there are some places where the PVC is still visible, but I figure coral growth will eventually...

Gorgeous tank. What kind of hose (and where did you find it) did you use to plumb your DT to sump. It looks sweet, and much easier on your return than a bunch of 90 deg elbows.

Here are a couple of FTS. I decided to go ahead and take them since I really like seeing pictures before and after a few years growth. I counted 25 frags this past weekend, but looking at my tank, all I see is rock. My clowns finally seem to be making a home for themselves. Last night I...

LOL! I haven't posted one of those. My phone doesn't take great FTS pics, so I need to break out and try my point and shoot, which I haven't done in a LONG time. But, I need to try it and see if the pics are any better.

I'll reserve one for you, take measurements and get back to you tomorrow. You can let me know at that point if you still want it.

    Bumbling newbie's 65g mixed reef

Since I'm not sure how often people visit the "Buy/Sell/Trade" forum, I will share this here. Please forgive the annoying double post. Hi all, I have the following containers up for grabs (free to BAR supporting members). They could potentially be used as saltwater mixing containers, or just to...

I'm using the pH meter that came with my Reef Angel. I assume that's pretty accurate. Side note, I'm a scientist and have calibrated pH meters quite a bit. I used the proper solutions to calibrate, and followed RA directions. I could try calibrating again. I've been using the B-Ionic Seawater...
