I bought an EZ Scraper yesterday based on the comments in this thread... will be here tomorrow. Excited to give it a try.

    Hitch Hiker Crab ID!

Poor little guy hasn't done anything wrong yet... now if he killed something of mine I'd be all for it (and have been before when I had a Mantis). Anyways the little guy molted... See how friendly he looks! :P

    Help with sump design

Didn't think about that. Personally I would just do without a sponge filter / sock on the refugium side and just make it a really low water amount going into it. That way sure, some waste water will make it back, but it'll be minor and hey... it's just water from the DT anyways...

    Help with sump design

That's exactly what I did on my frag tanks. It seems to work well.

    Help with sump design

I'd say A. Admittedly, my sump is similar to B, but that's only due to the tight configuration space I had in my stand. The main problem with B is the water movement may be too fast to create a great breeding location for pod's in the refugium. With option A, you can limit the amount of water...

    Hitch Hiker Crab ID!

Anyone interested in the crab? I'd consider putting it into the sump, but as a "swimming" crab it may "swim" out.

    Hitch Hiker Crab ID!

Hey everyone, Posted this on RC also, but no response yet. I got this hitch hiker crab (was on a chalice), and saved him before the Coral Revive bath. Anyways, been floating him, and now finally sunk him with a few minor holes for water to pass through. Was looking for an ID, or if we can't...

    LED Refugium light needed

I went with a par38 for my new tank and just mounted a socket on the top. Previously I had a rapidled moonlight fixture with cool/warm LEDs. It worked but didn't grow as well as I hoped. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    100w Multi Chip LED Project

The saga continues... I finally put some corals into those tanks and was rather disappointed with the color... it was very white and dull. The florescent colors were certainly not popping out. So I decided to try one of the blues with the whites... and the color was much better. So the work...

I want to add a chia "head" to my tank

Haha, this would be great! Looking forward to seeing it once you get some GSP on it.

    100w Multi Chip LED Project

Yeah I was considering those. With how often I spill water, "Water resistant" is probably not enough. That's why I was really looking at IP67 or IP68 connectors. They are just OEM Intel CPU Coolers. The first set I used were 775's iirc, and the second set are 1366's. I bought them at WeirdStuff...

    100w Multi Chip LED Project

Not too many updates really on the lights really. Waiting on shipping has been brutal. First I got these waterproof connectors: But the wire on those is about 24 awg, and I just didn't feel comfortable running such thin gauge. I was looking to do 18 AWG. The next set of connectors that came...

    Wavemakers...

The voltmeter seems to work properly, as it shows from 0-24 based on the dial location? It's a pretty nice Fluke one though, so maybe that's why.

    Wavemakers...

So I was doing a bit of measurement with a voltmeter, and it turns out I was running the WP-25 at full voltage with the 0-12 v PWM Dimmer. It actually gives it the full range, although I'm not sure how long it'd last at voltage above 12v before it had issues. The whole unit turns on (with no...
