Ya nest for sure has home/away assist. I have mine set to eco mode when we’re out. My eco temp “high” is 80. So worst case the AC goes on when it’s 80 in the hallway. The room the tanks in is dramatically cooler so I should be fine.

I had a 20g brute on wheels that I’d siphon old water into. Then had another 20g brute with a sicce ultra zero connected to a python for filling. Once in a while I’d use the sicce & python to drain my whole sump if I wanted a bigger water change.

Got ich in the tank. Boo. All fish pulled and placed in qt tanks. Much thanks to @Coral reefer for the assist

I have a 15g ATO reservoir and programmed my apex to fill it up automatically when it gets low. My estimate is about 2g a day of evap

Someone posted the concept on a forum (forget which who, sorry). I made a video on how to do it but didn't personally "discover" the "trick"

I use & like apex. The reason I bought it still stands as a good reason to keep using it: there’s a ton of info and experts out there.

in San Mateo the input TDS is around 20 & my pressure is about 65 or so.

Would a ratcheting pvc cutter work? Might not have enough leverage with the short handles but might be worth a shot

same. mine is taller than their biggest one but I'm assuming it'll work fine

One benefit is just using a single port on the FMM. so depending on the situation/setup you'd save $ by avoiding the need for another FMM

If the fish are aggressive eaters a fish trap works pretty well. I generally can catch one within minutes. If you really want to hurry maybe buying or borrowing a big tote and pulling out the rock might be the fastest way to go. Kinda sucks & is brute force but it'll work.
