EMERGENCY!!! Looking for someone who can save my reef tank while I am away.

No I use something like this. The problem is actually due to the outlet being very old (old house) and loose from the beginning. So part of this situation is actually my fault now that I think about it. Looks like all of my fish are dead and only a few corals are surviving. Very thankful to...

EMERGENCY!!! Looking for someone who can save my reef tank while I am away.

The power came back on by simply readjusting the plug! Hope nothing worse happens while I am away till mid-Aug. Sigh. When you take a vacation, make sure that all plugs are firmly intact and secure! This is the first disaster in the past 17 years of reefing. I am going to make a set-up that is...

No the entire tank is relying on the electricity coming from the multi outlet plug. Basically nothing has been running for three days.

OK I think I know what happened. The multi outlet that powers the entire tank (including the router) got loose and lost power connection for two days. I think all of my fishes and acros are dead by now already. Do you think my LPS and softies would survive this?

EMERGENCY!!! Looking for someone who can save my reef tank while I am away.

Here is my situation: I am outside town for a while and my 3 LED strips and canister filter (with bio media) plugged in (on a smart plug) are automatically turned off due to an internet outage (an old modem I guessing). So my tank has been running without the lighting and canister filter for...

    Joe's Reef Journey

My house will be empty for two weeks so I cleaned up the tank, filled up the top off reservoir, added auto feeder, etc. Hope everything is alright when I am back in mid Aug.

    Joe's Reef Journey

Here are some top down shots taken with a yellow filter under 2 x reef brite (actinic), 1 x unkonwn LED strip. After replacing the 70% of biomedia in the canister filter, my NO3 level soared to 20+ ppm (from around 5ppm) since 2 weeks ago but it actualiy helped overall color and health of the...

    Joe's Reef Journey

Found out yesterday that the tank had dangerously low ALK, luckily SPSs were still looking healthy (except for the green one in the center). Since early July, I added more fish and fed more, but the PO 4 level is still on the low side, and the SPSs look pale and have thinner flesh. I like the...

You could get a Raynox DCR-250 to get even more magnification, it is a small snap-on lens.

Thanks. I feed flake food like the picture below 5 days a week. I feed a frozen cube on Wednesday and Friday. Although my NO3/PO4 levels are closed to zero again. Sigh...Time to feed even more! Still struggling to feed the right amount on a consistent basis as the PO4/NO3 levels fluctuate.

Chalices are actually growing downward almost vertically. They are taking up lots of space that I am thinking about cutting them with a band saw :)
