Ich = 280,000 uws/cm2. Manufacturer's chart only covers 90,000 uws/cm2, unfortunately common issues like ich requires so much more than 90,000 us/cm2.

I am worried about the heat as well. I had to sell the Regal 250, because it physically didn't fit into the sump. The 57 watt is what I have on hand, the better option would definitely be the 25 watt. Oddly enough, with a quick check, both the 57w and 25 w have the same dimensions: 20" L x...

    Plumbing Design for IM40

I have always read to run different flow rates for battling algae/protozoa. I am trying to understand why, so I did a little reading and came up with these thoughts. My thinking could be totally off base, but I am assuming based on the below chart. Theory is @642 GPH a 57 Watt/40 watt UV...

Looking at the new implementation of the Reef Ready System at Innovative Marine and I noticed that all of their EXT models have ball valves on the return. What do you guys think about the design? In most cases I have seen unions in most builds

    Plumbing Design for IM40

If I remember correctly the layout of the UV is what the manufacturer suggested on their diagram-install (but I have a bad memory so could be mistaken). The ball valve between the the two tees are set to block, forcing water through the UV.

    Plumbing Design for IM40

After doing some reading, and copying other designs I came up with this. All of the pvc/pipes have been ordered, wanted to check with the experts before putting it together. The ball valve on the return is for a future manifold if needed. The two ball valves will allow me to remove the UV for...

    Simple 40

Delivery: IM instruction is not to sign until package is inspected. If there is anything wrong, refuse the package. Remember not to sign before inspection. I made the mistake of signing first before opening the crate. I asked the delivery person to wait until after inspection, he declined and...

    Trigger Sumps - Any suggestions?

I guess my question really is will it replace the 20lb of live rocks as far as a biological filter. For example, if my total water volume for a frag tank is 60g, and considering 1lb of live rock per gallon, would I just need 3 of these to run in my frag tank for a bio filtration? I never had a...

Thanks Randy, always appreciate the time you spend offering your advice. I just noticed the description. 1 piece of the Nano-Tech Blocks equals 20lbs of Live Rock?

    Trigger Sumps - Any suggestions?

This will be connected to a 40g frag tank without rocks. For the triton v2 26, do you think the first chamber can work with bio-media, second chamber protein skimmer. Seems like every frag tank I have seen has some kind of bio-media. thanks!

    Trigger Sumps - Any suggestions?

Read the two mods. The waterfall mod, is that 3d printed or purchased somewhere? For the Triton 26: Are you not using filter socks? and why use an external chaeto box, when chamber 1 seems to be empty? Also, no protein skimmer ?
