    What’s better 2 Kessil 360 or 1 Kessil 700?

Hmmm.. never really looked into Radions. What are your thoughts on it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    What’s better 2 Kessil 360 or 1 Kessil 700?

Thanks for all the inputs. I think I’m going with the 700. I think the selling point for me is the controllability. I currently run the 160 with the Kessil controller and I’ve always thought the controller was a bit awkward to use once you’ve got it mounted on the wall. I like the 700’s WiFi...

    What’s better 2 Kessil 360 or 1 Kessil 700?

Or are they pretty much equal in performance? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I used vinegar as well, worked wonders with all the stuff on the glass. The coralline on the plastic overflow was something else though. I must’ve sprayed vinegar on those things at least 10 times and they stayed hard as cement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Wow, one day to switch/upgrade tanks? I just spent the last four days doing the same thing and I’m STILL not done lol. Props to you my friend.. you are probably infinitely better prepared and organized than I was. Also, good to know that I’m not the only one who gave up trying to scrape off...

Removing pest algae of a rock with corals?

The idea behind keeping it in a bin is to “rehab” the rocks in before I put them into my bigger tank. Thanks for all the pointers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Removing pest algae of a rock with corals?

Reviving this thread with a related question. I'm thinking of putting the rocks in a bin of salt water with no lights but with a pump and heater for a few days. Will that help kill off some of the algae? Will it hurt the beneficial bacteria in my rocks having no lights?

    Refugium Question

If you don’t mind a little DIY project, try a chaeto reactor. The advantage with a reactor is that your chaeto gets light from almost all directions (so you don’t have to hand rotate it in a sump). If you don’t know what a chaeto reactor is there are tons of tutorials on it on YouTube. Good...

    Refugium Question

May have something to do with your water quality as well. I’ve tried chaeto in a reactor and also in the sump, I’ve had both grow out of control and also die all of a sudden. It’s just like any living thing in your tank, it needs the right water chem and light. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Refugium Question

If you got your chaeto from an established tank, you’ll get pods eventually. You’ll need the right lights for chaeto, look up grow out lights on amazon. I got one of those pink spot bulbs that they use to grow weed and it’s perfect for my chaeto! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Removing pest algae of a rock with corals?

If what sfsuphysics says is true that spores can come over with the water then me going with all new rocks is probably useless. There's no way that I can start from scratch and cycle the new tank because I don't have the room or equipment to have two tanks running at the same time. Then Gablami...

Removing pest algae of a rock with corals?

My zoa rock is actually only about 10% covered, so it's easy enough to scrub around the zoas.. but thanks for the reminder/warning just the same. I'll probably just try the h2o2 dip and upgrading the fuge.. im hoping to emulate your spinning ball of chaeto so I can have something to stare at for...

Removing pest algae of a rock with corals?

Again a question regarding my tank upgrade. So after my tank crashed i've been battling GHA, bubble algae, and cyano. My plan is to upgrade to a bigger tank and in the process, transfer only the water (and inhabitants of course) to the new tank while adding all new sand and rocks. That said, i...

    Sand recommendation?

I am in the planning stages of a tank upgrade so I’m not sure myself how much flow the tank will have. I don’t plan on having too much sps if at all.. so maybe not that much flow will be needed. Either way I’m definitely starting a tank journal soon to keep everyone posted. [emoji846] Sent...

    Sand recommendation?

Starting to plan out my tank upgrade, thought about going bare bottom but I have four fighting conches that have been good to me and I don’t want to give them away. So I’m thinking of going with maybe a couple inches of sand. I want to go a little finer than what I have now, I have crushed...

Questions about finding a new partner for a clown

So for those who aren't aware, i recently had a tank crash which killed all my livestock except for one clown. Unfortunately, this clown's partner died. I am definitely going to try to pair it up with a new clown, but before I do, I have a few questions: 1. When do clowns change sex? The clown...
