Monthly cost to keep your tank running

Vegas water pickups are lower than the rest of the dam pickup as of 2020, so the whole thing needs to go before we lose our water here! The fact that they needed to add that is telling... Water is stupid cheap here (for now). It only cost me $500 to refill my 20k gallon pool.

Monthly cost to keep your tank running

*Laugh's while living in $0.18 vs $0.46 per kW hr* *Cries when actually adding up the 5 tanks expenses* Not expensive to actually run once things are set up. Food, water, and dosing isn't crazy expensive once all the equipment is bought. I'm not counting livestock.

Nitrates are down to 20 with 10mL of vodka dosing daily. Phosphates back to .91, but I added some more dry crushed coral to my sump to get massive biological filtration going. So I dumped in the rest of my bottle of LC to my skimmer. Used not expired reagents with the Hanna and got way closer...

    Today I learned about...

If you can take a rock out, and there isn't coral in the area, pliers or a steel hammer also work for killing them. Use appropriate force and ppe. Bone cutters and needle nose pliers are likely the two most common tools used. Can attest, these are sharp and poke holes in skin easily.

Finally tested Calcium with my hanna and super old reagents. I thought 700 ppm ca seemed high. 375 on the hanna, so I can turn on both dosers. Time to calibrate the trident.

9 months old, 24 lbs, 29", so eating is not a problem. Like my tank, I feed her often, with lots of different foods and let her eat what she can. She is crawling and pulling to stand, so I think I will just keep a baby gate on my office to keep her out at all times and away from the tanks. I...

    Monzer's tank restart

You mentioned the phosphate reactor emptied itself? I would get a sock in the drain line and storm the tank to get as much of that media out as possible.

No experience, but read the same. One rabbitfish per system, and they can get big (10")
