    Phytoplankton HOA Rules?

Everything was going smoothly until last night. Something happened to the colony on the left and it is a significantly different color overnight, likely dead. Anyone who knows phyto know what happened here?

    Dumb bandsaw question

I always threw RO in the bottom of the saw and had tank water dips for before and after to get the mucous off. Guess I cared about the saw more than the coral I was cutting, lol. I never had any bad luck with losing frags from what I cut. One anecdote for it working the other way. So not a...

Transitioning from "Rock Wall" tank to ???

Throwing my vote in for crushed coral bottom instead of sand, but if you love that look then go for it. Agree with the above tanks. I have an SCA and love it. I want an IM, or Waterbox.

Got a coral and nem shipment from Aqua SD. Great prices and huge nems. Too many $5 frags to count.

Just the dorsal spikes, and I don't make a habit of petting my fish. I looked into it and it sounds like it's only slightly worse than a bee sting for some and can be quite painful but not deadly to others. I never had any issues with my last rabbit fish but I knew what behavior to look for and...

New video today, the Yellow Tang from Biota has really colored up nicely. The Quoyi parrotfish is a beautiful fish and has begin to eat pellets and frozen aggressively and it swims around scraping their beak on rocks. The Chromis eat like pigs so I had to open up the auto feeder door a little...

How long until the HOA says something about this? I think it is greener than yesterday. Thanks @Coral Hub (Nathan) for the ferts and the phyto!

Is it safe to lower nitrate from 80+ to <10 in a day?

Yes, it is fine to reduce the nitrate this fast, especially with how much is in your water. The water change is the normalization, after the swing of too much food.

They peak at only slightly different than our lights. The main difference is the testing of intensity that we really could do with a par meter. I thought about this a lot when mine was under lights for the first week. Good luck, take lots of pictures and videos, and try to help each other out...

Would this coral skeleton work as a clam cradle?

Sounds like a good excuse to make some new rockwork that can hold a clam. For the record, the one I have just fell out of its spot last night.

    Finally happened LF suggestions

If it is your tank journal tank, I think it is small enough that you can get a trash can or big plastic bin, put all the rock and coral in it for the 10 minutes you need, and catch the fish with 2 nets or a breeder box and net.
