Bryan, have you tried pluging in the ballast directly to a wall outlet rather than through the reefkeeper? I think it might be the cotroller port.

Have you tried putting the ballast on a surge protector and ground the ballast case?, it maybe surge or radio interferent. I think it's more likely surge or grounding problem.

Take the rocks out and remove the shrooms with a bone cutter, it is the best way without releasing toxin. I've done it when my 180 was overrun with them. You can do it, just roll up your sleeve and get to work.

Whether the article is true or not, I do notice that lately Icecap lost the edge, they used to make the best VHO ballast, and the best electronics halide ballast. VHO is not as widely used anymore, and the electronics ballast has some very good competition especially with the galaxy ballast...
