    TheRealMadMax Monster Tank Build

Oh the new tank is really coming along! I’ll try to get some good pics, although gads it is so big all the coral frags look so tiny. All the custom paneling to enclose the stand and button it all up should be delivered in four to six weeks.

    TheRealMadMax Monster Tank Build

Not the final rock work, but coming along! Coral should start to go in in about a week. Lighting wise running 10 A360s. Still waiting on all the cabinetry and wanescoating. Will eventually be enclosed on the top and bottom so the only way to see between the rooms is through the tank.

For the lighting are you going to create a chase in the wall to conceal the cables? Or add the electrical above the tank and go with an enclosed hood?

Do we have any member that is on this forum that works for neptune?

I It does, although the Neptune pumps are powered by a separate four pronged connector that are a bit on the fragile side. There is a YouTube video about using a soldering iron to replace a capacitor that gets burned out when the pump goes. A little more adventure than I was up for For the...

Do we have any member that is on this forum that works for neptune?

My son’s Neptune Systems COR15 pump died after two years and fried the EB832 on his fresh water tank. The failure turned all the outlets on so his sump ended up getting cooked by the heaters, luckily the fish were fine since the pump was dead. I now really like having the pump as just a regular...

    Biiiiiig Haddoni

Definitely orange. I had a red Haddoni before that due to a bad salt batch didn’t make it. The importer said they only get in a couple of orange ones per year. Here is another terrible pic under natural light that shows the color a little better.

    Biiiiiig Haddoni

Yeah I had heard they like to burrow down into the substrate. I have a 2” sand bed. I can add more in the area I would like it to stay if you think it would help. Really trying to avoid having him pull a Godzilla in the tank Here are some pics. The first was taken by the seller. Under my light...

    Biiiiiig Haddoni

Well I might have made a bit of a noob mistake. On Black Friday I found a great deal on a beautiful Haddoni online. The description said 7 - 8” but this guy is much bigger, also a crazy bright orange which is wild. The base foot in the QT tank is at least 3” tall. I have one spot in our tank...

    TheRealMadMax Monster Tank Build

Been a crazy busy couple of months. Here are a few pictures of the system maturing. Robert has brought some amazing corals. My kids and I also made it down to Anaheim for Reefapaloza and got some fun pieces (note to self just like Vegas best to establish a budget ahead of time …). Only set back...

    TheRealMadMax Monster Tank Build

Yeah same material that is used in bathrooms. You can actually soak it in water and it won’t swell like Sheetrock.

I the aluminum wrap at the 160 stall point is the key! I pull slightly before 203 and do a quick finish on the grill of both sides to crisp up the bark. Sooooo good!!! If you want to go truly overboard look up a Tusla Torpedo … anything that involves a full on bacon weave you know is going to be...

My friend has a green egg. He absolutely loves it. We went with a Kalamazoo hybrid grill (gas burners 9” bellow trays where you can add wood or charcoal) and a Memphis Elite smoker. Both we absolutely love and would highly recommend.

I grew up in Oklahoma where BBQ is a way of life. When I first moved to the bay in ‘99 I remember a coworker invited a bunch of us over to his house for a summer BBQ. I was so excited not having had good BBQ in a while. When I showed up they had a Weber with hamburgers and hotdogs cooking ‍♂️ I...
