barreefers.org isn't working on Google Chrome...

Gresh as for the office 2007 or 2010 question. If you have the option go directly to 2010. 2007 will piss you off like no other (no more menu's everything's freaking buttons). 2010's no better but the buttons are a bit better and more organized. Also 2007 somewhat lags (kind of like how vista...

Sfork's 33.6 Gallon Mr. Aqua Rimless

I've decided to go backroundless and painted my pvc black. I still need to get around to Mario's so I can get my light fixture bent. I was supposed to have all the plumbing purpled and solvent this past weekend but I was on bed rest because I hurt my back at the gym because of bad form :).

+1 to windows 7 being nice, I think it runs better than XP. Or at least, it scales nicely unlike the bloatware that was vista. (never ran vista made the jump from xp to 7.)

Controller questions (and new club meets old club!)

This thread made me want to pick one up. I think I will get one for my new tank.

    Cracked heater... Still worked

I don't think so. The only time I pulled it out was because it was hitting 82.3F. It may have been when I changed its location a few months ago and the water didn't get in until last month.

    Cracked heater... Still worked

So for about 1+ months now my tank has been a steady 82.3 F. The first thing I did maybe 2 weeks ago was unplug the heater during the day to verify that it was indeed the heater heating the tank ( I could never catch it with the light on) Came back later that day and the tank was about 76.5 I...

Sfork's 33.6 Gallon Mr. Aqua Rimless

The seams do overlap a bit. It's not as horrible as people make it sound, I never woulda figured it was considered a bad quality without reading people complain on the ADA vs Mr. aqua comparisons. Then again it's half the price of an ADA and none of the do! aquas are made this big.

    Coral feeding

I use this big pipette I got from Daiso Japan in SF. It's basically a skinny pipette but the top is a big baster sized squeezer. It was in the bathroom section of you want to look for one they always have them for whatever reason. I feed either Rod's food or Fauna Marin Ultra LPS Grow and Color...

    Hydrogen Peroxide dipping

I've done it. I've used more water maybe 6:1, I do it on my plugs (the only place I get visible algae because cleaners cant get to it) and they never seem to brown out or bleach. I measure very unscientifically I basically get tank water in a cup with the coral fully submerged and use a baster...

New to these forums and SW all together...

OEF vet here, welcome! You should come to the annual bar swap if you have a chance just to see what it's all about! I started about the same time last year and attending the swap and talking to people helped me out a ton. http://www.bareefers.org/home/node/12186 (you don't have to pay to...

    Dremel Tool

I would use bone cutter on rocks. dremel is good for cutting plugs but for zoas specifically on plugs i just scrape them off with a razor( I use ceramic plugs I wouldn't recommend scraping on a rubble plug). If you decide dremel is the way to go, go from the underside then when you get near the...

Sfork's 33.6 Gallon Mr. Aqua Rimless

It's under over. as in the water goes under then over on the inlet then over under on the return. I just dripped the glue to the bottom for support. (btw the tank is backwards in the picture, looking at it from that picture the inlet and skimmer go on the right and the return is on the left. I...

Sfork's 33.6 Gallon Mr. Aqua Rimless

Had to use it for something. Here's what I just did a few minutes ago after the silicone cured enough to support the glass, added the other baffle. I'll give it 30 mins then do the last one.

Sfork's 33.6 Gallon Mr. Aqua Rimless

Thanks, the water line should hit about 1/2" from the top of the overflow box, so about 1" from the edge. I've been thinking about check valves but I've heard they're prone to failure after awhile. I think first I'll try just arc the locline up and drill a small hole in the loc lines at their...
