    DBTC: Sunny D Zoa

There are 3 frag(s) available right now. Picture of available frags. Can easily make more as needed given the size of the mother colony. Location: Martinez

    DBTC: Sunny D Zoa

Picture below of the mother colony: Sunny D Zoa These are really hardy zoas/palys and make a great beginner coral. The polyps are decently sized with a nice skirt that has good movement. I have had these for years and they refused to die when basically everything else in my tank did. As soon...

    Jebao mlw series wavemakers

Shot of how it looks mounted. Compared to sow-15 It has a really nice broad pattern. Will need to tune it a bit, it's starting to move sand around when used at 85%. Now that I got the app working I think the extra money was worth it.

    Jebao mlw series wavemakers

Ah ok I lied, reconnected and got the app working. Pretty cool, let's you set different modes throughout the day. I was really hoping it would let me control the low end of the random mode though.

    Jebao mlw series wavemakers

Had more time to mess around with it. The wifi ap is nice -- but completely useless for me. Requires a 2.4 ghz connection and I have a google mesh wifi. So the only way for me to connect is to get up and walk around my yard until it flips me to 2.4 ghz. Will see, Appreciate the offer. Would...

    Jebao mlw series wavemakers

Pump came today. First impressions are that it's pretty nice. Broad flow, more or less dead silent right out the box at 100% power. Also much smaller profile then a traditional power head. Was looking to get a broader flow pattern so this accomplishes that. Trying to get better polyp...

    Tank crashing slowly .. help

Ug that's frustrating. I had a similar thing happen where my tank basically spontaneously combusted. Been a while but I think I basically starved everything by aggressively carbon dosing while trying to kill off red turf algae. It's funny to look back on. But my first nano tank was wildly...

    Possible Flatworm

Once upon a time, when I pulled my 6 line wrasse out of my tank, my tank got overrun by both zoa and monti eating nudies. Multiple aggressive treatments of flatworm exit solved the problem. You need to kill adults, then let any eggs hatch and do it again. It also killed a bunch of other things...

1-part dosing for nano tank? which one do you recommend?

I'd personally start with kalk if you need it. Realistically though, a 10g nano can pretty easily be handled via water changes given that even a small 5g change is a 50% change.

    Tank crashing slowly .. help

A water change in that range is really more of a bioproduct of cleaning the tank more so than a mechanisms to impact the water directly. Changing twice a week seems really excessive unless you have it automated. But that's just me! That said, your tank being bare bottom, new in January, using...

    Jebao mlw series wavemakers

Curious if anyone has bought these yet - either the mlw or slw series. They seem to be a knock off AI Nero. It looks like mlw is there 2021 model, the "m" variation is being applied to all their pumps as they move to wifi control with a mobile app. Jebao MLW Smart Wave Maker with LCD Display...

The wet side of my MP-40 died, considering replacing with a Gyre pump ... recommendations?

Or more when it inevitably breaks, small loss :) That was my perspective on it at least.

Rise (UK) full brown filter…impressive results

I bought the orphek set a week ago and have been happy with the amber and yellow lenses. Nice to be able to snag photos of things without the awful blue saturation.

    Waterbox 20

I swapped my return pumps to jabao dc pumps.. like the dcp 2500 or 3500. For the exact reason you mentioned. Sicce pumps get really noisy with head pressure, the jabao ones are silent, especially since you can throttle them back if needed/wanted. Iv had their pumps for a few years now on my...

The wet side of my MP-40 died, considering replacing with a Gyre pump ... recommendations?

I love the flow from a gyre style pump. That said, I gave up on them because similar to @Bruce Spiegelman , I never had one last long term. That said I went cheap and bought a jebao cross flow and a jbj icecap gyre. I went through at least two of each, they all ended up having the ceramic...

    Tank crashing slowly .. help

Interesting, do you do saturated kalk in ato then dose 2 part to supplement? I've always done one or the other. Running kalk in ato now as a starting point but figured I'd be getting my doser running again soon. Not to hijack the thread :)

    Tank crashing slowly .. help

Together or separate? https://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chemcalc.html I've had that book marked for years and use that whenever I have to calculate an ad-hoc dose. Soda ash or baking soda are the two common items for DIY alk supplement. Id assume you are doing this separate to bump alk.

    Tank crashing slowly .. help

Dumb question but with regards to nitrate dosing, could you skim less or feed more? I went down that path once upon a time and in hindsight it felt really dumb to do versus just feeding something like reefroids, aminos, more fish food, etc if I wanted dirtier water.

    Wi-Fi Aquarium Temperature Controller ITC-306A

The Amazon listing seems to have a picture telling you to put them next to eachother and that there is an alarm that sounds if the temperature between the two differs 5*. So I'd assume the intended purpose is redundancy on the probe. Not monitoring two spots. I actually just had an issue with...
