    Black Friday reefing deals/purchases?

Tyler was great to work with. I think you will really like the lid. Mine has worked out great. Get what you pay for.

    Substrate / Sand

I was listening to a reef bum episode. Forgot who the guess was but he mentioned he adds the larger heavier sand to areas where the flow blows away the lighter stuff. So essentially he allows the flow to determine where he puts each type of sand instead of trying to mix different grain size.

    Experience with multiple Rabbitfishes?

I have a one spot foxface. About a year ago I brought home a yellow mimic tang. The foxface almost killed him in about 20 minutes. Poor guy was in a bottom corner all chewed up. Had to take him out and rehome him. Passed him on to another BAR member and he recovered. I currently have a gem tang...

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Week 11 update: For now it is a lot of rinse, wash, and repeat. Have not lost any more since the transfer to the new tank. Honestly, I have been working a lot this last week which means I have not had the time to study them closely. All I can say is they are still alive. The meals remain the...

    100g+ Tank stand w/ wheels?

I would worry about it tipping over since it will be very top heavy. I assume the stand would be the flush with the tank which would make the center of gravity pretty high.

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Week 10 update: Can't believe it has been 10 weeks already. I will admit this is getting a little old and repetitive. The good news is we only lost two fish during the transfer to the large tank. At the same time I am starting to see them eat more of the frozen foods but nowhere near reliably...

    Pocillopora colonies

Are there any fish that are known to eat GSP or Xenia reliably?

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Yes. They were all doing fine before the move. From what I read the sudden fright syndrome may be either a nutritional issue, neuro issue, or just stress. These guys are so tiny and likely fragile that I don't really know. I could have easily injured them when trying to scoop them out since they...

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Well, Week 9.5 update. Some changes and a bit of bad news. I was able to switch them over to a 20g long tank yesterday. A big thank you to JVU for letting me borrow the tank. The bad news is this morning I found two had passed away. The rest are all active and eating. I am not sure if they died...

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Agreed. They took to live brine easily. At the same time they are fully developed when they come out of the male’s mouth. Don’t have to worry about hatching or larval stages let alone microscopic diets.

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Week 9 update: Well this will be a quick one since not much has been going on. I am finally starting to see some fish reliably eat some of the large offerings. Overall, liver brine is still the hot ticket. From what I have read this is about the age where they start transitioning to large food...

How to limit unwanted coral growth

If you need to limit coral growth just place them in my tank. I’m good at limiting growth…or sometimes ending it all together. Hahahaha.

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

I wish I could grow these out. But don’t have the time and my wife would kill me if I set up any more fish stuff.

Am I going to wake up to a crashed tank

Sorry this happened to you, but I am glad you posted this here. I have not heard of brittle stars being affected either. At least now we can spread the word a bit for everyone else. I hope it all works out for you. G

    Bangai’s bred in my tank!

Yes, I just don't have the time to get a culture going or to maintain them, and buying them would be cost prohibitive. They can go through a bottle of pods in 1-3 days depending on their size. Knock on wood I don't see any growth defects yet. When I say frozen pods, this is the product I am...
