    My 150 gallon build journey

It's a Colorado Sunburst. My anemones along with my bounce mushrooms and jaw breakers were the only items left from my system.

    My 150 gallon build journey

Hey Doc...that tank in the background is a modified IM 25 lagoon and was plumbed to my 150's sump. That tank also came down with the 150.

    My 150 gallon build journey

I'm not leaving the hobby...just downsizing to simplify my life. I had an old Elos 70 sitting around for years that I turned into an AIO. I will be doing a quick and dirty build thread on that soon.

    My 150 gallon build journey

I started with Dupli-Color primer and paint that I picked up from O'Reilly's. I like the automotive primer because it's sandable. The Dupli-Color cans atomizes very fine and lays down very smooth, but there is a downside to this. First, the cans are not cheap. Second, it's very difficult to lay...

    My 150 gallon build journey

If I was a betting man, I would bet it was my sustained low alkalinity that probably started the STN. My colonies at the time were really taking off with growth...like a massive growth spurt. I had to adjust my reactor every week or two to keep up with demand. I kept my alk around 9-9.5. By the...

    My 150 gallon build journey

Cleaned, emptied, and going to its new home...it was a nice short run. One thing I won't miss are those water changes!

    My 150 gallon build journey

Just a quick update. I was unable to tend to my tank for a few months last year and the system ultimately crashed. It's been pretty much a fish only tank since July/August of 2023. It went to a new home a couple of weeks ago where it will continue to bring joy to another reefer. These are some...

    Free Pulsing Xenia

One of my first corals back when I first started in this hobby. I love how they pulse...adds a lot of life to a reef as long as you keep them under control.

    Knock off / Clone MP10- MP-40

Looks like it uses suction cups to hold the dry/wet side to the glass .

How to mount Radion to 8020?

I think this is your best solution that will yield the cleanest look...either with the T-nut or what Marcus H mention in his post. I used T-nuts to attach my AI"s and my XR15. The slide on the XR15 seems pretty solid but I can't speak on the XR30 as I don't own one. I believe as long as the...

    1/4" Glass sheet source?

I have a DIY weekend project in mind and need to source a 2'x2' sheet of 1/4" glass to convert an old tank I have to an AIO. Anyone know of a good source for this? Thanks.

Looking for ideas - stand finishing options

From the pic you posted, I'd suggest making the stand look like an extension of that wall. Just clad the stand with plywood, finish it, and add the same bottom and top trim as the ones you currently have on that wall. Whatever you do, just stay away from MDF.

    Where to buy Interceptor?

I have a couple left over if you want them. It's the 50-100 dog ones. Are you using it as a dip or treating your entire tank?

Advice to cut rock-hard coral underwater?

If you’re going to go with the dremel route, pick up a dremel 1.5” ez lock diamond cutting wheel. I’ve cut through rocks with it and it’s relatively durable.
