    210 gallon Dream tank

Looks great. I want to replace the flooring in my fish room, but I’m dreading moving all of my tanks. Hope the installation goes smoothly!

Kalk out, CO2 scrubber back in (and question on humidity)

That's weird. I would think dry air coming from the CO2 scrubber intake would keep the humidity relatively low throughout the tubing. Some moisture is good, I've always poured a tiny amount of water in the CO2 scrubber when I refill it, but I can't remember mine ever looking like a sauna. edit...

    210 gallon Dream tank

Sorry for your loss. Losing fish sucks. Your living room is really starting to come together, I can see your vision coming to life. What kind of flooring did you go with? Looks like LVP? I had waterproof LVP in my old condo and loved it.

    Cuong's 30 Gallon

Nice tank! Any aggression between the chromis? I tried a trio a long time ago and ended up with a single after a few months.

    PizzaOven '25 Budget Build

They’re very stubborn and annoying. I did the following to get them under control: Filter floss changed weekly Added Bumblebee snails Coral snow 1x per week Feed fish small amounts with turkey baster, no broadcast feeding I did the shotgun approach, which worked well over time.

    PizzaOven '25 Budget Build

Yeah, I had an explosion a while back in my main tank (all of this rock came from that tank). I was feeding reef roids a couple times per week which I think contributed to the problem.

Discosoma Mushrooms - nice looking but still to be avoided?

I love discosoma. Some multiply way too quickly (purple, brown, green ones), but I've found the more $$ they are, the more manageable they are. They will end up in places you didn't put them, but I'm OK with it.

    PizzaOven '25 Budget Build

Update: Things are going fairly well. Corals seem happy for the most part. I was struggling to keep surface film from building up on the surface: To fix the problem, I decided to swap out the HOB for one with an integrated surface skimmer (I bought this on Amazon for $12.99, I've updated my...

    MD’s 90 Gallon Shallow Reef

Nice progress, it's coming together!! I just switched to titanium heaters, I guess since they're more efficient than glass heaters, they can be a lot smaller. I put two 200W on my 65g system, which is way overkill. The downside to this is more on/off cycles with the extra power and efficiency...

    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

The wet dry vac is a cool idea. I cleaned my sump a few weeks ago and used a turkey baster to suck up detritus that had settled at the bottom of each chamber. It was a slow process.

Question for those that have attended Reefapalooza

I went a couple of years ago. I waited until the second day to buy stuff, put everything in a small cooler, and drove the 7-ish hours home at the end of the day. You can find pretty good sales at the end of the 2nd day when vendors are trying to clear stuff out. I got a lot of cool swag...

    UNS 90R

I've had my eye on the UNS Reef systems. I have 3 UNS tanks (all FW). I love the build quality and mitered edges. I'm thinking this will be my next build, so following along.

    Andrew's Red Sea Reefer 250

I agree, it’s impossible to create a perfectly balanced solution for every tank. I’m trying this out because it’s simple. If I end up with major imbalances, I’ll try a different approach. Great to hear your experience, and that others have success with it! What dosage do you use?

    Andrew's Red Sea Reefer 250

I sort of figured an all in one solution like this may have issues - imbalances, missing elements, etc. If I can avoid buying and dosing individual elements, this would be ideal.

Thanks for the advice. OK, I'll start with 1 drop every two days and check back with ICP in a couple of weeks.

    Andrew's Red Sea Reefer 250

I did some preventative maintenance today. My 2x100W Eheim heaters were getting pretty old (3-4 years), so I decided to replace them. I went with these Hygger titanium heaters. They are smaller than my Eheim heaters, which saves a little bit of space in my sump. I also picked up Isol8 MT...
