    ABC Reagents

That part I didn't know. I've seen it on SWA, but after seeing it was coralvue, figured it was for the hydros.

    ABC Reagents

FYI Just got an email now stating that they will be transitioning their reagent sales to Coralvue. You would still be able to purchase the "just add water" kit directly, but once their stock is depleted that will be all that will be available. For anyone that uses these for their automatic...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I should have ran the airline outside a long time ago. Since doing it, PH hasn't dropped below 8.0

    Recirculating Protein Skimmer

Do they still make those? I ran an H&S recirculating skimmer outside of my sump. Loud as hell, but all there was back then was AC pumps. Once dialed in you can pretty much forget about it. I eventually switched it out to an ATI bubble master because of the heat generated by the pumps. They're...

    Custom hood maker recommendations

Divorce would be the cheaper option...you have plenty of alcohol in the reference pic to get you through it.. JK Anyone know what happened to Max? He used to run a LFS out of san jo and did custom stands and hoods from us back then...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Purely space..things are starting to get cramped under the tank. I underestimated how much room I need for maintenance. Opening and closing the algae reactor, kalk reactor, or even calibrating the ph probes involves me getting in cramped spaces. Whatever I could relocate away and put of sight...

    Eric's 125 build.

Do you use the cone shaped strainer or the flat life guard ones? I found the flat ones to clog rather quickly and changed mine out.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

A few updates... With the weather warming, Temps got to the point where opening a window wasn't enough and we got the AC going. Shortly after, I noticed my ph dropping as well had everything closed up. I've been collecting parts to run an airline outside to offset the high co2 in the house...

Your no. 1 (overlooked) thing to plan for when going on extended vacation

I know that @SupraSaltyReefer and @richiev just took some time away from their tanks and things panned out well. They might have some better insight for vacay prep

Your no. 1 (overlooked) thing to plan for when going on extended vacation

I put an inline check valve on it so it requires a pump for water to flow. First time testing it out I let it run for 2 days and found this out the hard way. Luckily there was no fish or coral in my system yet. Good call out tho!

Your no. 1 (overlooked) thing to plan for when going on extended vacation

Depending on how many people live in your house, your Ph may run higher when away. I notice that effect on my own tank if I'm out for the weekend. If you have any dosing that's dependant on ph, take that into consideration

Your no. 1 (overlooked) thing to plan for when going on extended vacation

I wouldnt make any adjustments to equipment 4 days before my trip just to see how it would perform. Simulate a power outage and cut all power for 30 minutes to observe if contingency plan comes on as expected. Upon power up, see if you can access your tank remotely again. All other important...

    Swimming Anemones?!?!

First time seeing a swimming one. I did, however, just have a pissed off haddoni that didn't like flow go for a flying tour of my tank. I walked by at 1am to see him clinging on to a blue stag, freaked out and placed him back in the sand..now he's settled in back of my rock work where I can...

    Randy’s Flock o' Reef Tanks

Fishing out amphipods sounds tedious..if I had some already established fuges, I'd probably done the same..how's the fuge handling your nutrients? I just got my algae reactor going after getting a little to heavyhanded with feedings and found my PO4 hitting 0.13

    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

Ohh yea, and for all of your power bricks, I would space those out. Buy or find someone who can 3D print you a brick holder. Those things get hot and a bunch of them touching is a recipe for disaster.

    Alex’s IM 150 EXT

I ran my wet lines outside of a track, all just after of preference. Right above the wet lines are two tracks that house all of my cords. While it's a snug fit, the one I posted above should house any cords needed and still leave room to work in. Just make sure to label everything so it's easy...
