    Anna & Pablo’s RSR P650

Yea that's been my experience...so I dunno if I would take the nitrate level at 100 at face value since there is still nitrite in the water

    Anna & Pablo’s RSR P650

Sorry, was referencing his 100 Nitrate reading in his earlier post where he had a nitrite of 1, and nitrates of 100

    Anna & Pablo’s RSR P650

I've found nitrate test kits arent accurate with nitrite in the water as well

What in the world is this?!

False alarm...It looks like my brittle star got its legs cut in the pumps or something...I saw it this morning as it moved out from under the rock work and the legs are significantly shorter than what they used to be

What in the world is this?!

It definitely came as a hitchhiker...I thought it was just my brittle star at first glance but it definitely isn’t. it’s under my rock work so I don’t really have an easy way to pull it out...it looked like it was just eating detritus

How often to feed Mandarin goby?

I have a mandarin goby that is eating LRS and frozen hikari Mysis. I also have pods in the tank, but now sure if the population can be sustained with a possum wrasse and mandarin hunting all day is feeding 1-2 times a day enough?

What happens after an Acro covers a frag plug?

Got it...I was going to remove it and cut the plug off so its just sititng on the circular disk but seems like this is not needed

What happens after an Acro covers a frag plug?

So I have an acro frag that has completely encrusted the frag plug, however, I kept the stem on the frag plug and mounted the stem to the rocks. So now there is a gap from where the acro has covered the frag plug and the frag plug touching the rock. What happens with the growth now? Assuming...

    Velvet and itch questions

I've also had good luck with Parasite Remedy in my last tank, and have used Ich attack with success as well. I know what people say about these treatments, and it may very well be that Ich is still in my tank, but I went from almost every fish showing signs to no fish showing signs, but YMMV

    Tenuis care

yea not sure if flow is the issue but that’s what happened to me and I added another pump and seems to have helped but I only had 1 mp10 in my nuvo 40 at the time

    Tenuis care

Did it STN or RTN? one thing that seems to have helped me is to make sure there’s enough flow all around the coral

    Should I chase lower numbers?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm currently running an XR30 on AB+ at about 85% intensity on my nuvo40. Trying to get my acro colors to look like what they do online (big mistake I know). I figured maybe the slightly higher than "ideal" phosphate levels might be contributing so I'd want to...

    Should I chase lower numbers?

Yea I have a Santa Monica dropx algae scrubber but it doesnt seem to be growing anything...Really not sure if dropping from .08 phos to .03 is really going to help with color though

    Should I chase lower numbers?

I just did a 5G water change on my nuvo 40(probably 35G of water volume, maybe a little less) and my after water change results were: Nitrate: ~2.5 - 5PPM Phosphate: 0.08 PPM Usually after a week of no water change, my numbers sit at: Nitrate: 5 -10PPM Phosphate: .12PPM I'm not overly...

Is this big enough to frag ?

I got the frag from budmans coral and it was sold to me as an Oregon, so not quite sure...regardless, it had that nice deep blue coloration I’ve been hunting for

Is this big enough to frag ?

Was thinking about fragging it and making it my first DBTC offer since its one of my first coral to get to a size where I can offer something...But there is no true rush

Is this big enough to frag ?

I have a larger piece of Oregon tort and I’m wondering if it’s large enough to frag without causing any issues? I figure I can maybe get a good one or two cuts out of this thanks!

    Encouraging DBTC participation

I'd echo what @NanoCrazed said in terms of more regional DBTC...I've seen a lot of nice pieces, but haven't been able to pick up due to how far away they are. I'll be offering up my first DBTC Acro shortly..Finally has grown out enough (I think) to frag a piece off of
