    Bunch of coral dying

Good to know that.. once the nitrates had bottomed out -I got them to 2 immediately but after that it gingerly increases.. One step at a time.. I’ll start with the 10 steps first and some carbon.

    Bunch of coral dying

I don’t know if I would classify it as a ccraah Most of my corals are fine (so far) just mostly the smaller acros.. and one big birds nest.. What I don’t understand is why it’s happening consequentially? That is -one goes-then another goes. I could better understand if suddenly a bunch...

    Bunch of coral dying

At first I though it was just that the nitrates bottomed out a month ago (and I got it back up fast) that couple corals suddenly died -but now about a month later I still have coral dying off - Mostly sps-two acros RTN’ed this week. So i have lost 4 acros, bird nest colony, another sps...

    Best way to lower phosphates

+1 on LaCl dosing -I dilute it 40:1 and use a doser into my skimmer. It has kept my PO4 at .18. Can’t stand GFO for a lot of reasons. If you don’t have a skimmer as it’s smaller and you are going without filter socks-def don’t use this method is my suggestion. That being said -my SPS and...

Red Sea replacing probes for free (ato)?

Be interesting if the hydros is more reliable. It may actually help if I actually cleaned it. Suppose to put in vinegar every 3 months.. with the new one-may be more proactive in that respect and see if that helps

This is why I got out of the hobby...

The Molly miller blenny from biota also does a good job at the bigger ones but it took awhile for it to grow big enough to tackle it. They are tiny when you get it. And it doesn’t eat the soft corals when it’s done like an aiptasia filefish

Take your eye off the ball (nitrate) for a minute and boom

Two factors -carbon dosing -and one of the foods I dose wasn’t dosing properly. If I was home I would caught that.. Cut the carbon dosing and fixed the food issue.. How can I tell if there is a bacterial bloom? Carbon dosing can cause that if I recall.
