DIY RO Filter - Flow restrictor sizing & pure to waste ratio

I am pretty sure you should just get the booster pump and the auto flow restrictor below. Check out the chart below for the "water saver" configuration. Copy my setup below. https://www.saltwateraquarium.com/1-4-aquatec-8800-rodi-booster-pump-kit/?searchid=7495595&search_query=booster+pump...

    Embarrassing Reefer Problems

I remember it just not being as good a quality vodka and might have other stuff in it.

Specifically, which corals like nutrient rich water?

Because @derek_SR can't sit still and likes messing with things.

DIY RO Filter - Flow restrictor sizing & pure to waste ratio

Get two of the same buckets, and a scale. Measure the low bucket when the other one fills up. Usually the higher # is the waste, not the product water.

Specifically, which corals like nutrient rich water?

Corals definitely eat foods that fit in their mouth too, so I wouldn't say that is the only way to get nutrients. Or do you mean used up after acquiring the nutrients? Maybe, I don't know coral physiology well enough there.

    Embarrassing Reefer Problems

I forget which podcast, but they said to use any vodka that didn't come in a plastic bottle. $15 for a handle sounds like plastic bottle prices! TJ's is $10 for a glass 1/5th, and I got the glass dosing container for free with it. Yeah, all of the radiologists I know (3 of them) hate small...

    Michael's 300 In Vegas

25 mL/day right now. I might increase it to combat the nitrates some more. I might also just start the Purple non-sulfuric bacteria instead and see what it all does together. I am pretty sure this is from my heavy antibiotic use and not from the vodka as I have been using vodka forever and...

Specifically, which corals like nutrient rich water?

I did find that millie's didn't like high nutrients, so everything but those.

    Embarrassing Reefer Problems

Explaining to the checkout person at Trader Joes that the two vodka fifths I am getting are for my reef tank and I am not an alcoholic, because my wife did all the shopping there two days ago and I wasn't getting anything else. The checker behind him had heard of carbon dosing before, so I had...

Specifically, which corals like nutrient rich water?

That is how I ran my old tank, and my new one too. Everything was super happy, including my sps. I never could do well with millies though. P04 got up over .8 and nitrates over 80. Same answer. Softies and lps like really nigh nutrients, and some sps can do really well with them. NPS need...

    Michael's 300 In Vegas

You mean I am supposed to test my nutrients? I guess I could tone down my lanthanum chloride and vodka while I dose those to make it a real experiment. I was just doing it because it seemed fun to grow more stuff in a controlled manner, and maybe I give some away to local reefers here to build...

    Fiesta Vallarta Restaurant Tank

I was back in the bay for a couple of days and got to see where these tanks are. I don't know what they have been doing, but the glass looked really clean on both tanks, and the fish looked happy. If anyone has some leathers they want to get rid of, I am sure the restaurant would trade them...

    Michael's 300 In Vegas

I got to borrow a par meter and checked some top and bottom numbers. Close to 200 at the bottom and 400 near the top of the rocks. I'm pretty happy with those numbers. I think 10x of the kessil 360's are good. No need for more, yet. Also, after the week of Ciprofloxacin in tank and then an...

RODI System Recommendations and Considerations (and which ones not to buy)

    Probably switched the labels, lol

Specifically, which corals like nutrient rich water?

They all like nutrient rich waters imo. Hardy ones are soft leathers, most zoas, duncans, hammers etc.

This is where I really like the trident and the dos which I can control from my phone. I check in every 3 days while I am gone and adjust as necessary.
