Get long tweezers, a step ladder, and take your shirt off and grab some goggles/mask for deep maintenance. Get the tall tank. I have a 30" tall tank on a 4' stand and love it. I shouldn't, but I do stand on the handle as a tall step to get deep in my tank. Some balance required, lol. Long...

Food type, everything and lots of it. Frozen, flake, pellet, powdered coral foods and no worries on phosphates, just have enough coral coverage and herbivores. In his words "Feed everything with a mouth" which includes corals, pods and fish. Don't worry about additives, but some amino acids...

Look at SCA aquariums too, I am really happy with my 120 from them. support@scaquariums.com SCA Tank For a non custom one close to what you want. The extra height is a plus in my mind, more room for the fish to swim over the rocks, which is what they like in the reef. Waterbox and IM are...

    Antibiotic Dipping Routine

Reviving this thread because I have some brown jelly. Stupid Vegas move. (Never move houses or break down a tank if it is doing well, just tell your wife too bad and see how that works)...

    Tariffs, livestock and aquarium needs

I do some consulting on the side these days and people ask about planning for the tariffs. I always tell them to wait 30 minutes and things might change. They seem to change faster than the weather out here.

    Regal tang

I think this is another name for a blue tang. I had to look it up. Way to be obscure, haha!

High speed video of herbivores eating

Peter Wainwright, one of the researchers behind this video I am pretty sure is the son of my mom's major professor from Duke, Steve Wainwright, who specialized in fish locomotion. "Steve was an early founder of the field of biomechanics, which applies principles of mechanical engineering to...

    Trident reagent usage question.

Never again? Then no, the reagent A, inlet and outlet will all be flushed regularly with regular use.

    Trident reagent usage question.

Yes, the reagent B and C tubes will dry out.

    Trident reagent usage question.

Just be careful reducing the number of tests, if the tubes dry out it is a big pain to clear them and keep things running. My thoughts here are to get the ABC reagents to reduce cost and run the tests the normal amount.

Cutting corals from the (encrusted) bottom - yes or no?

Extremely light pressure is also important when running these bandsaws as it is easy to push too hard and derail the blade from its wheels.

    Neptune trident advanced replacement

I get a test b failure on the Trident, and known good reagents don't do that.

How much do you care about buying new reagents? Chemical degradation is usually somewhat analog in that the hotter and the longer the worse it is. The reagent will be fine until it isn't. I would try to find an indoor closet floor if possible and I will be doing so in the future.

    Neptune trident advanced replacement

Jonas already wrote back and said one other person in Australia had the same thing happen with their B going bad after being left in a hot attic for a long time like I did in my hot garage. Apparently (go figure) he includes instructions to not store in high heat, but said thank you for the...
