    Bad weekend :((

Sorry to hear about the tank. I think a lot of us can relate to crashes we've had for a whole variety of reasons. Hope you return soon.

Thank you Gresham,BAR members, and everyone else that helped put BAYMAC together

It was the first one I've been to and I was very impressed all around. The place looked professional. The speakers were great. The vendors had a lot of corals and awesome tanks set up. Thanks to everyone who helped put this together and who contributed.

    BAYMAC - Corals needed

Can we provide multiple corals in the same container or are they supposed to be separated like a frag swap?

BAYMAC (May 8th) - what frags are you bringing?

How are we bringing the corals in? Packaged individually in containers? Or are they going into a tank there? I'll see if I have anything else I can bring in, but I'll bring in minimally these. I'll come a little before 11. . 1 - small frag pink pom pom xenia 1 - Radioactive...

    Fragging zoanthids

How are you cutting the polyps? There's probably a few common ways to do it. 1) You either want to break the plug so polyps are still attached to the base. 2) You cut around the mat and also scrape under the mat to keep the polyps in tact with the mat.

About to give up on DF. What to do with corals?

I also was so frustrated with them before.... I did maybe a few days lights out, water changes, little less fish food... then reduced light cycle a little...water changes... another few days lights out... water changes... and eventually it went away... Hang in there.

    need help IDing mixed zoas

There don't appear to be any named zoas I can think of, but what's in a name. Looks like a colony of mixed zoas :) As long as you like the mix, then it works.

How to Tell if a Bulb is Old

I've been wondering the same thing... Without a par meter, what do people do? Wait for funky algae growth? Just change them routinely every X number of months? There must be a better way.

Anyone know what type of ricordia this is ?

Definitely a green/brown Yuma. Generic way to tell them apart from what? Florida? Yumas are definitely more plump and the mouths stick out. Maybe someone can find a link to something more scientific :)

BAR meeting featuring Richard Ross December 12th 1:00

Hmm... trying to figure out when I can make my way out to the meetings. If there is going to be a Bar swap, this looks like the last regular meeting before the swap?

    Misterious Zoo Disappearance

I'd second what people have said... it could have just floated away cause glue doesn't always hold polyps well depending how its glued down or you could have a fish that likes corals. I'd keep watch of my fish next time to see if they seem to nip at your corals and then glue things carefully...

    What is this coral?

Yeah pagoda corals can go anywhere and can be fragged wherever pretty much.

    sexy shrimp eating my corals.

I haven't had sexy shrimp, but other shrimp which would start picking at my lps. I've lost some nice acans as a result. If you see them eating your corals, you'll have to decide which is more important to have... the corals or the shrimp. I like the shrimp, but I chose the corals.
